This resulted in the car pulling hard to the left but they had me test drive with all the self driving features that prevented me from noticing it until almost too late. I had the Lexus dealer confirm this and went to receive my money back guarantee and they told me I would not receive any of my money for a week to two weeks and I paid the car off cash. This has prevented me from purchasing a new vehicle because I’m out 40k that they will not give me I fussed and fought for 8 hours for them to not work with me on any car prices not even a 1k discount so to my troubles and then telling I basically had to buy a car from them or be stranded and they never budged to aid me at all. I called them out in there inspection and they commented “ a majority of our vehicles are returned because of mechanical problems that’s why you have 30 days”. The tried telling me I had to drive over a 100 miles to turn it in to a different car max despite me being at one in Austin I talked to 8 different reps that all proceeded to put me on an hour long waitlist and offer me the same option of “you’re just going to have to wait to get your money back or buy another car from us” I asked about them shipping a car to me and they promptly said “for a fee” worst car buying experience I have ever had they basically are advertising fraud with the money back guarantee yes you will get it back but they won’t give it to you for weeks another customer was next to me discussing how she has been waiting a Month for her check and they are telling me that it would only take a week. I informed them I was to go to colorado in a few days and they told me to buy a car from them sell it in colorado back to them and get my money back and repeat this to get home… they are withholding my money not writing me a check right away but they own the car I purchased again how does that work? I can’t leave with a car without paying so why is there no double standard? More

I bought a car from Carmax two years ago. My car had only 20,000 miles on it. My car has broken down countless times since. Everything in the world has been wrong with my car. The engine has gone out, the transmission, the battery, the alternator. The actuator was even broken when they sold it to me. They claimed to have replaced everything before I bought it. This was a lie. Whenever I try to get in touch with Carmax, they are unavailable. The Carmax warranty is a joke. It doesn't cover half the things it claims to cover, and getting anyone to tow your car takes anywhere from hours to days, leaving you stranded without a car. I wait for hours on hold when I try to call Maxcare just to get someone to tow my car. I have made appointments with Carmax to have my car serviced and had to wait weeks-months for an appointment only to show up at my appointment for them to say that was appointment is at a store 30 minutes away. I couldn't get there on time, so the appointment I had waited a month for was canceled. This company is horrible. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Buyer Beware. More

I could not be more disappointed in this place. I received a quote online and filled out exactly every question including the car had a check engine light. I traded in my precious Jeep Sahara for a beautiful Gladiator that was nearly new. Why Carmax? I had a terrible experience with trying to buy new through a dealership (1 star). Found a Bronco I thought I would like at Carmax with a mediocre sales team in Colorado was disappointed in both (2 stars).... after my return I was fortunate enough to work with Edgar at Texas Stadium, I found EXACTLY what I wanted. I was excited to drive and when I looked up the address they confirmed for the test drive appointment it was incorrect vs the listed address which was only 15 minutes from my help. The vehicle was actually 30 hours from my location and it would cost me $1099 to bring it to the listed location. Not a good first experience with Car Max so be careful and review and confirm all information if you decide to use them More

They are trying to force buyers into using their financing at 3-6 % higher APR rates to keep the money in house. Car prices are marked up as well. They run credit with no intent on using outside lenders to finance cars...instead they tell the buyer to contact lending sources that traditionally only deal with dealership. Lots of misinformation but when pressed they say they don't have the capability to shop for better APR's. Just another example of taking advantage of consumers during a difficulty time in our history !! More
