I am avoiding names of individuals here, as I don't think it's important. I am rating the DEALERSHIP on its methods and effectiveness. EDIT - oops - I have to pick a name before my review is accepted. Oh it's important. I am rating the DEALERSHIP on its methods and effectiveness. EDIT - oops - I have to pick a name before my review is accepted. Oh well, I tried... but I guess the manager is responsible for his team. I came to this dealership looking for a new car, and was excited to see that they had exactly the model I wanted in stock: new, red, automatic Miata RF. The salesperson was friendly, knowledgeable, and not too pushy. When I asked about the price, he unambiguously told me that it was "X". That was good news, a little lower than I'd expected, so I agreed to a test drive. A second salesperson had joined the conversation, equally engaging and professional, who also confirmed (when I asked, to be sure) that the price was X. I was eager to drive it. After my test drive, I was even MORE interested in this car. I asked once again to confirm that the price was X - it was clearly confirmed. (I knew that "X" was just the top-line cost, and that customary fees and taxes would be added; this was not my first new Mazda deal.) I indicated then that I wanted to move forward with the purchase. From this point I was transitioned to a sales manager to execute the purchase. After a short wait, he came to me with a computer printout of the cost details. There was a lot on the page, of course - but my attention was fixed on the top line of the page: "MSRP: 1.1X" Everything else flowed from there. After he went through the line items - none of which surprised or bothered me - I told him that his team had represented a top-line cost of X, not 1.1X. (Of course I'm just using relative numbers, but that was very close to the difference - an substantial increase to the top-line price.) His response was immediate: "There's no way I can come down that far for you." This was particularly frustrating, given the clarity his subordinates had presented to me. "I'm not asking you to come down in price at all! I just want you to use what was presented to me." I guess I should have been suspicious, as the brand-new car (6 miles on the odometer!) didn't have a window sticker that would have shown this information. As politely as possible, I declined. What tactics - blatant bait-and-switch pricing. The junior people followed me a bit as I was walking out, asking me what had happened - with continued apparent sincerity - I guess as the "good cops" in the scheme. I just went on my way. Here's the funny part: I reengaged the next day with other area dealers, and one of them (who I've reviewed separately) said they could do some homework and maybe find me the desired model. Within hours, they had - and it was the SAME car, as evidenced by the VIN! It had earlier been marked as sold, but then, the deal somehow fell through... I can imagine that someone was similarly dismayed at some later point in the dealings by some unpleasant surprise. So I made the longer trip to the other dealer, and finished the purchase in under an hour. They actually came down to closer to "X" for me - which was great. But in retrospect, I probably would have paid the Cardinale Way Peoria people their 1.1X... if, instead, they had been honest up front. AVOID this dealer - too many games. Looking at the other reviews, it's clear that I'm not the only one who has drawn this conclusion. More
This place does not even deserve one star. I talked to the "Finance Manager" and explained to him that we had a small balance left on a prior totaled vehicle. He said they just did one and they were able the "Finance Manager" and explained to him that we had a small balance left on a prior totaled vehicle. He said they just did one and they were able to wrap it into a new car. We were called almost every other day. Today we decided to apply for the car that we had wanted. They had someone call and take our application over the phone. We checked in at 3:44 today to see what the status of our application was. We told them we had $1200 down and asked what kind of payment we were looking for. They asked for pay stubs and we were quick in responding. I am a 1099 employee and I explained that so I sent bank statements. We sent everything quickly. They asked if we could do $1500 down and I verified it was for the car that we wanted. They confirmed. They also confirmed they were getting everything ready and it would be quick and easy. Me and my husband were super excited to get there and make this a good car buying experience. We got there test drove the car and went to start the paperwork. We were told what our interest rate would be and with the down payment amount we verified earlier. We were happy and at peace.... We passed by the "Finance Manager" that was suppose to be doing the deal and he told us he was going to get everything printed up. The Sales person Angel left and then over comes an older gentleman that proceeds to tell us that the approval they have is with $3750 down because I am a 1099 employee and that with the $1500 down our payment was going to jump almost $188 per month. We were also told that the prior balance was left out of the deal. Which was fine. We would just take care of that. However we were already told that the $1500 down was all we needed. I would not have the $3750 until after Dec 10th. That was the whole premise of making the trip over to the dealer is they would do the deal with $1500 down. We would not have gone to the dealership tonight if they needed the whole $3750. Then the older gentleman would not give us copies of the paperwork we just signed. We are so disappointed and these types of dealers give the good ones a bad name for car salespeople. The sales man Angel told us before all this that they were a Christian based company. Um... We beg to differ. There was nothing Christian about this and a very sorry experience. More

I've been coming here since 2018 for service and each time I've come here, the service is always great. Very friendly and helpful. However this time, in particular, was so great, it really blew me away at how amazing this place is. Robert worked with me; I needed an alignment, all new tires, coolant, and brake flush so it was going to be a pricey service, or so I thought. Robert went above and beyond my expectations, got me a great deal on my tires saving me literally a few hundred dollars and when I picked up the car, he had it detailed for me - not just the standard car wash. He followed up when he said he would and was kind with each interaction. Can't say enough good things about this place. Also, thank you to Asia - She's amazing and kind and made sure to follow up with me to make sure I was happy. Thank you all. More

I want to recognize Lynn Davis Sr., who works as a salesman at Cardinal Mazda in Peoria. I knew nothing about the process to get a vehicle and had spoken to many colleagues to make sure that my pa salesman at Cardinal Mazda in Peoria. I knew nothing about the process to get a vehicle and had spoken to many colleagues to make sure that my partner and I would not get taken advantage of. I think a big part of the process is finding a dealership you can trust. Lynn created that environment with his focus on customer service. It started from the initial inquiry to schedule a test drive on their 2021 Mazda CX-5. During the process, Lynn never tried to sell anything to us. He focused on the educational aspect of the vehicle. We also had our eyes set on the Honda CR-V and the Subaru Forrester - Lynn was able to get us to test drive those vehicles. Lynn's level of professionalism provided us the confidence that the team at Cardinal Mazda in Peoria deserved our business - as long as the next steps were simple, transparent and fair in price. When we decided to move forward to discuss the numbers, it was straightforward. Lynn provided us all the time we needed to evaluate the numbers. Once we finished up that part of the process, we were introduced to Dale Breummer, the finance manager. When discussing products for us to purchase, he did an excellent job of helping us create a package that made sense. We left with a monthly payment that is affordable, and a fair purchase price of the vehicle. These interactions can be stressful and complicated, when they do not need to be. That is why I highly recommend you consider Cardinal Mazda in Peoria. I suggest calling ahead to schedule an appointment with Lynn. If it is possible to get financing from Dale, then consider requesting his expertise. You will not be disappointed. More
