Update: Carvana has directed their warranty company to make an exception to the standard coverage and fix the defect at no cost to me. The car will be in the repair facility for one week and rental reimbursement is included up to $40/day. So the risk of buying a car online can be weighed against dealing with the always annoying car salesman at the dealership. Either way the car buying experience is still a hassle.
