As part of our verification process, our Underwriting Specialists will set clear expectations on what to anticipate for the day of their delivery to set them up for success. This includes that our Field Advocates will ask the customer to text a photo of their insurance card and selfie, with the front of their driver’s license, prior to bringing the vehicle to their home. That is an invitation to identity theft, which Carvana is willingly participating in. It is not a question of whether your encryption is good, rather when will you be hacked or internally compromised and expose your customers to identity theft. Additionally it was never explained that Carvana would risk their customers being exposed to identity theft by sending a selfie with a picture ID pictured in the selfie or I would never have wasted my time with your company. There were multiple opportunities in the process to inform me of your risky business practices, which do not serve the customer well.
