I write this as a warning, but also as comfort for those who have, and will engage with Carvana. I recommend the following: Restrain from stating, “We put every vehicle through a 150 point inspection so that you can be 100% confident in the quality and safety of your vehicle,” if the vehicle has mechanical issues. To that, try to examine the car the day before delivery, not the day of. Further, restrain from re-listing a car with the same guarantee if it still isn’t mechanically fixed. That looks bad for your ethics. Restrain from amending contracts already signed by both parties without informing customers of the changes. Try to not make a customer contract for insurance until you know the car is ready for delivery. Work on your communication! Experiencing massive phone delays and dropped calls is never fun. Also please stick to at least one promise and call-back when you say you will. Oh and keep your associates informed! If they are asked about an issue, let’s have a more professional response than “no one told me that was even a problem.” Lastly, don’t get customers' hopes up with positive text messages saying that the order is confirmed and ready for delivery, if it isn’t. What enticed me to Carvana was their claim that they are the leaders in contactless delivery after many said it wasn’t possible. After an experience like this, it’s worthy of re-examination. Every purchase does have a complimentary 100-day/4,189 mile limited warranty to address any lingering concerns.
