They shine! They shine even more when it counts! I have always said that you can only really tell how good a company really is when you have a real problem. It's a matter of how they react to it and I have always said that you can only really tell how good a company really is when you have a real problem. It's a matter of how they react to it and take care of you. Carvana proved themselves to me big time with a concern that I had even in this difficult time of the Covid-19 Pandemic! I purchased a RAV4 from them. it looked beautiful from the pictures and had very low milage for a 2013 model. When it came down the vending machine it was just as beautiful (if not more so). Now regardless how beautiful a vehicle is, I always take a newly purchased vehicle to the Dealership to have it inspected. So I took this RAV4 to the Toyota Dealership (that has helped me out for years) while I was still in the Carvana 7 day return period. It didn't take them but 5 minutes to come out of the service area to tell me that I need to return the vehicle ASAP. I asked them why and they took me back into the service shop to show me while it was on the lift. The whole bottom of the vehicle was caked in rust! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Even the frame was peeling because it was rusted out so bad. Now to be fair! Car dealerships that buy, sell and trade used cars do not normally take rust into consideration when handling used cars. Also no warranty covers rust. So no dealership ever takes pictures of the undercarriage of a vehicle when showcasing it on-line. This car came from Maryland where street salt is laid down during the winter because of snow and ice. On a vehicle that a previous owner has not done their due diligence to take care of it and get underbody car washes done on a regular basis which contributes to this happening. I called Carvana and there was a 2 hour wait on the phone because they just closed all of the vending machines due to Covid-19. Also I messaged them on-line which showed a 30 minute wait time. So I stayed on the phone and I kept my on-line chat screen up. I got disconnected twice on my phone because I responded to a text message and accidentally hung up and then I got a phone call which I tried to answer which disconnected me from both calls (this was my fault really). After 1 hour and 59 minutes I got a response from somebody on the on-line chat. Now mind you that I was getting really burned up at this point having to wait so long but I understood because this Covid-19 thing causing the closure of their dealerships and making them get an excessive amount of callers. I explained the situation and she took care of the exchange on-line immediately. I already had the other RAV4 that I wanted picked out because I was browsing their website while I was waiting. Everything seemed fine after that. 2 days later I get a call from Carvana asking me for additional information such as bank records or check stubs to prove the amount of income I was making. They didn't do this on the first time that I got the first RAV4 so I questioned it. She told me that anytime somebody is buying 2 cars and getting 2 notes from Carvana that they have to check for proof of income. I said "Wait a minute! I'm not buying a 2nd car, I'm replacing the first one that you sent me because of excessive rust on the undercarriage!" She was a bit shocked as well. She apologized and said that she would look into it, have it fixed correctly and then call me back. Needless to say she got it all straitened out quickly and called me back with-in 30 minutes. The next day I get a call from Carvana and they told me that while they were loading the new RAV4 onto the truck for delivery that it had a cracked windshield on it. They wanted to make sure that it was repaired before it was delivered but it would delay it for one week. I told them that I wouldn't mind that but I already went over the 400 mile limit on the current RAV4 that I was already in and didn't want to keep building it up (for those of you that don't know every mile that you go over the initial 400 miles during the return period upon receiving the new vehicle is a $1 per mile). He said that they would definitely not do that to me. They increased it to 800 miles and that helped out a lot. The good points are that they bent over backwards to get everything set straight. They did the best that they could in a tough situation while having to deal with a pandemic. The also want to make sure that issues such as cracked windshields, tears in the seat, etc... are taken care of (rust on an undercarriage is a whole different matter). Also they have a huge selection to choose from so that you can easily find what you want. Things that I was neutral about was some of the wait time. I understood it because of the situation but that doesn't mean that it wasn't a bit aggravating. And now the bad point: This is the only reason that I did not give Carvana a 5 star rating! If you are going to showcase and sell cars on-line exclusively then you need to take pictures of EVERY angle of the car! Including the undercarriage! The reason that I say that is because I can walk on to any dealership and look under the car that I am interested in buying right then and there without waiting on the vehicle. I don't have to fill out any paperwork to do this! I just have to walk up to it and look. With you guys I have to order it, fill out paperwork, wait for it, then I can look at it. If I don't like it then I have to go back on-line, pick out another one, fill out more paperwork, wait on it to show up then look at it once again. Also you are limited on the amount of times that you can do this. You also risk going over that 400 mile limit every single time that you exchange vehicles. For me that's a problem because I travel around 70 to 100 miles a day. You guys need to post pictures of the undercarriage of all of your vehicles so that we truly know what we are getting into. Especially when I was looking at every RAV4's carfax that was with-in my price range, they were all coming from the North-East states which scared the heck out of me after getting that 1st RAV4 that was so caked up in rust. To summarize: Carvana is a great way to get a car and find the used car that you want because of their massive selection! Just be vigilant! Buy smart! Pay attention to EVERY carfax! It will tell you the service history, where the car is coming from, how long the car was owned by the previous owners before they got rid of it (this can be a red flag by the way if somebody owned it for a very short period of time), and how many accidents that it was involved in. Just like with any dealership pay close attention to what you are doing. Not every dealership is out to get you! Carvana did not give me that impression. Everybody that I dealt with was sincere and tried to help out the best way that they could. They are human just like the rest of us and mistakes happen, especially during a pandemic! Thank you Carvana for everything that you did to help me. More

I went to CarMax who gave me in my opinion a low price. I was referred to Carvana. You spend 20 minutes on their website filling everything out and when you click submit you get a message back stating that during the COVID crisis they are not buying cars. SHAME on Carvana as THEY COULD HAVE THAT right on their HOME PAGE and stated it from the BEGINNING so as not to WASTE anyone's TIME. More
Pretty awesome experience I was looking for a red F-150 with the Platinum trim package in January and this offering from something called "Carvana" popped up on a Google search I was looking for a red F-150 with the Platinum trim package in January and this offering from something called "Carvana" popped up on a Google search. I had a mark on the tailgate that wasn’t addressed in the pre purchase defects. The delivery driver took pictures of if and I was supposed to be contacted about the issue. When I was contacted on day 6, there was apparently no record of it. The detailing outside and especially inside left a LOT to be desired. I brought this up to the rep who contacted me on day 6, with the response of “well I’m sorry that happened”, the apology if great, but at the end of the day I was delivered a dirty vehicle that I then have to incur the expense of getting a thorough detailing. I feel like these issues are low hanging fruit that as a company could have easily been addressed. Also, something I failed to mention, first thing I had to do on the test drive is replace the left tail/turn signal bulb. All this being said, would I try carvanna again? Yes, I would give it another chance. Would I recommend to a friend? I would tell them I am overall happy with my purchase, but I would also relay my experiences to them. More
