I’ve reviewed your concerns carefully with my staff and also looked into our credit reporting system and can update you as follows: 1) We have an authorization on 3/1/14 to run your credit in connection with your inquiry with Ladonna and TJ to purchase a 2013 Dodge Dart from our dealership; 2) Our credit reporting and compliance system is from one of the largest providers of such a service, used successfully and daily by thousands of car dealerships around the country. As such, it is 100% compliant with all federal and state laws for consumer privacy and fair credit standards. 3) Our system shows a single instance of your credit being run by our desk manager Donny O. on Saturday 3/1/14. If your credit file is showing this occurring more than once from our dealership, it is due to an error with the credit reporting agency or agencies, not with Chapman Dodge. I would recommend you contact them and have them correct their records. We would be happy to write a letter confirming them and showing them records in our system to support that it was only run once; 4) Additionally, the FICO algorithms used by all of the major bureaus count multiple instances of a credit request from auto dealerships within a 2 week timeline to be counted as a single credit request – they realize you’re shopping around to make a single purchase and not actually trying (in most cases) to buy more than one vehicle.
