My wife and I wanted to buy an Equinox, with certain but not all upgrades. Ultimately, we decided to order one from the factory. We dealt with Fred Kodroff in finance to document the purchase, and we were in and out of his office quickly. And we get free car washes as long as we own the Equinox. Grossinger gave us the best price by far over several other Chevy dealerships on the 2010 Chevy Equinox. Patrick was knowledgeable about the vehicle. Fred was very friendly and efficient. Overall great experience. The only problem I had was the back and forth game on the pricing. Eventually we got where we needed to be but this was after 3 hours of back and forth "Let me talk to my manager" back and forth game on the pricing. The staff is motivated to sell and will do there best to get you where you want to be on trade-ins and pricing. The management either needs to give the sales staff more power over pricing or tell the staff to cut the bull with the back and forth game. I'm not sure which needs to be fixed but one of the above needs to be addressed. Only when we were going to walk off the lot did we settle on a price. There was also NO financing involved as I was paying cash. Our salesperson was respectful, motivated to sell, and readily available and knowledgable when it came to answereing questions. There was good follow-up after the purchase and did not dismiss us after the purchase and continues to be a resource. One last note...Obviously be sure to completely clean out the vehicle you are trading in. I accidentally left an expensive pair of my military tactical glasses in my trade-in and no one knows anythig about them. I can only assume one of the detailers now has a pair of glasses that only a service member can purchase. I do recommend this dealership. Be ready to play the haggling/pricing game and be ready to spend a fair amount of time working to get where you need to be. The vehicle we purchased is great. We received a great price for purchase and on trade-in. The staf is polite and inviting. Everyone from the mechanics to the Manager on duty were courteous and polite. More

I Went to Grossinger looking for a Chevy HHR. When I got there I was immediately greated by Mike, and I though OMG these guys are gonna hound me the entire time I look at there lot! I told him what I was looking for and he pointed me in the right direction. Then when I found the one he let me drive it around the lot no questions asked. Needless to say I hated the car! But then came across a 2009 White Chevy Malibu. I was like a child in a candy store! Test drove it and knew it was thr car I was going home with. Then thats when I met Dan and the rest of the Grossinger team. I had my 2 year old daughter with me and they were so nice to her giving "Hi Fives" very polite.Dan helped me get the car Financed he was very honest and straight forward! There was some trouble getting the car finance the night I was there (got there after the banks were closed). So Dan told me to just take the car home with me... I was like HUH... are you sure?? They insisted. Came back on friday comepletely in LOVE with the car. Then of course there was more bad news. Financing the car was going to be tuff I had a Trade-In and I was over my head in the loan. Dan came back and just kept a very positive attitude towards the whole situation, he eased my mind! Never told me we cant help nothing like that. So went home again with the car no financing still. Anyway long story SHORT! We got the car financed. All in all it was by far the best service I've had when buying a car,i was pacing back and forth in the lobby waiting and when I found it was going to be mine I just wanted to hug him. I was buying a new car for the first time in a decade, literally. The whole process was more stressful than I had anticipated and the going back and forth between several dealerships was an experience in literally. I am not someone who buys a new car every two years and I am not someone who buys the most expensive car on the lot or has to have every bell and whistle on a car. I wanted a reliable car, within my budget at a fair price. I feel like I received that with Grossinger’s and I would do business with them again. I was going back and forth between an Altima and the Malibu. I went into Grossinger’s because my parents had purchased from them more than once in the past and had good things to say. I was fortunate enough to work with Darrick. He was not high pressure, he treated me with respect and I felt like he wanted to make sure I ended up with a car that I was truly happy with. As a side note, I had stopped in to drop off some paperwork a few days after the sale and in the ten minutes I was inside, without my asking, Darrick had already had my car taken through the car wash. I just think that was another example of why he is such a great person to do business with. He had completed the sale days ago, but he still cared about the little things. Through my wavering back and forth, second thoughts about the color and a myriad of other concerns, I had the opportunity to talk with Faraon several times as well. They answered all my questions and made the final decision one I was completely comfortable with; their patience with me was very impressive. In the end, after having gone through the financing process with another dealer a few days earlier, dealing with Fred was the better experience by far. Fred was extremely thorough and made sure that I ended up with a payment I was comfortable with and answered all of my questions completely. He is the consummate “sales guy” and he does try to make the “sale” but he was respectful and I did not feel like he ever lost patience or wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. Are they looking to make a sale and make a profit? Of course. Did I feel like I received a fair deal when I finished signing the papers? Absolutely. Would I recommend Grossinger’s to someone looking to buy a car? Yes, and I would tell them to ask for Darrick. More
