Disgrace and Out right Liars and Thief’s Be forewarned…I wanted to write this review for a few weeks now, but need this time to reflect on how this business robbed me. I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangl forewarned…I wanted to write this review for a few weeks now, but need this time to reflect on how this business robbed me. I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler that I purchased in April 2022. The Jeep has about 45000 miles on it. I purchased this vehicle from CarShop in New Brunswick, NJ. This vehicle was purchased with full extended warranty for which I wanted to ensure that serious issues would be covered. Well on Sept 24, 2023, I stopped at a stop light in NYC. Once the light changed to green and I removed my foot from the breaks the automatic restart of the vehicle would not initiate. I had to get the car towed back to NJ to my home and to figure out how to get the car repaired. Carshop is located almost 50 miles from my home in Teaneck. So, to get it towed there would cost me about $250.00. I called Carshop and they advise that I could tow it to a closer repair shop, and they should honor the warranty. I had the car towed to ChryslerJeepDodge of Paramus. I explained what happened and gave them the warranty information so if something was covered by the warranty. The following day I received a call from the service representative stating that the repairs would cost $2900.00. I asked him to explain what the charge was entailed and did any of those charges was covered by any of the warranty. He said he called the warranty company, and nothing was covered. He stated that the issues were that the breaks needed to be replaced, the vehicle needed throttle body service and Emission System Service and the battery needed replacement to correct the issues of the Jeep. I protested that I don’t think the breaks had anything to do with the car not starting. He then requoted the repairs at $1600. I asked if any of those service was covered by the warranty insurance, and he said no because they are routine maintenance. However, he had stated to be that he had call the insurance warranty company and they said nothing was covered. I placed a call to the insurance directly and they stated that no one from the repair shop called. They insisted that I needed the Throttle body service and Emission System service in order to fix the issue that I brought the car in to address. After further, investigation turns out that this issue is common with some Jeep Wranglers where the auxiliary battery dies and thus affect the ability for the Jeep to restart. Thus, I only needed the batteries replaced… This ruthless way of upselling unneeded car repair service is wrong and downright very deceitful. I do not blame the repair tech but seems to me the standard means of operation at this Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Paramus. Seems their compensation is based on how much repair service is sold by each representative. Why should I have to pay out for service that was not really needed to address the core problem? This is my second experience of dealing with this dealership and both experiences now reveals to me that they are untrustworthy. If I had to do this again, I would have towed the car the 50 miles to the more reputable and trustworthy business. More
In July 2019, I leased (and later purchased) a brand new Wrangler Sahara JLU at this dealership. Now that my prepaid maintenance plan is expired, I am happy to never ever go there again. Even with the prepa Wrangler Sahara JLU at this dealership. Now that my prepaid maintenance plan is expired, I am happy to never ever go there again. Even with the prepaid maintenance plan, they would recommend services that were so basic, and sometimes I would agree. The price quoted always was more, sometimes hundreds more. One time I was charged for a brake clean, fuel injector clean, and some other very basic services, and it was like $800. The worst part of this dealer experience was when my new Wrangler with only 26000 miles started running rough and the check engine light came on. Their service dept could not diagnose properly, ended up replacing the engine under warranty, which took 2 months, and they were not communicative, no loaners, and I was leasing at the time, paying the lease with no car. Never even got a free car wash like other dealers do, after spending thousands of dollars of their inflated service charges. I also have a friend that had a similar experience with her Grand Cherokee here as well. There are 3 other CDJ Dealers less than 45 minutes drive from this dealer, I recommend going to Rockland, Ramsey or Teterboro. This place is only for people who enjoy getting ripped off! More

Horrible customer service. Doesn't honor extended warranty contracts. Will try to bleed every dollar out of you. I have a MaxCare extended warranty for my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Doesn't honor extended warranty contracts. Will try to bleed every dollar out of you. I have a MaxCare extended warranty for my 2015 Jeep Wrangler which is 8 year 75,000 and has a $200 deductible per visit. When I arrived for my appointment I told my service advisor, James Chalmers, the three issues I had. All of these items are covered under my warranty. At the time he told me that there would be a 2 hour labor charge for a diagnostic charge at $215/hr. I questioned that charge due to the fact that the warranty states that diagnostic charges are covered IF the components that were diagnosed bad are covered under the warranty. Mr Chalmers told me that Max Care no longer pays diagnostic charges so that is why I need to pay for it BUT my warranty contract states "DIAGNOSTIC CHARGES: You may be asked to authorize disassembly and/or diagnostics at the time your Vehicle repair order is written". So while I disagreed with him I signed the paperwork he provided me and left my car there figuring this would be cleared up with the warranty company. Mr Chalmers called me to tell me that my car was ready four days later and all three items had been fixed and were covered by my warranty. Then he told me my bill was over $671. I questioned that since I'm just supposed to pay a $200 deductible. He told me that the additional charge was the 2 hours of diagnostic time. I argued that I shouldn't have to pay that since the repairs were covered under warranty. I called the warranty company and explained the situation. The woman I spoke to said that if the repairs were covered I am only responsible for the $200 deductible and they pay the dealer all diagnostic charges plus the repairs. She told me not to pay for the 2 hours because it is covered. I went to get my car with my warranty paperwork in hand. I was told they don't do that anymore. I have a contract that states they do and my contract is still valid. My contract is clear as to what I'm supposed to pay. Then another person who I believe is Alex Vargas got up out of his seat to come and tell me that MaxCare doesn't cover diag fees anymore and I told him the same thing that I told James. After going back and forth with both of them they basically told me I wasn't getting my car until I paid the bill. So I went to the cashier and paid so I could leave with my car. I disputed the charges above the $200 deductible with my credit card company. Then the service manager lied in his statement to the credit card company saying that my warranty does not cover diagnostic charges when it clearly states that it does. On top of the warranty issue, when they reassembled the dashboard, they did not reconnect my Sirius antenna to my radio and plugged the key remote antenna into the wrong place. So my Sirius didn't work and my remote controls only worked from 5 feet away from my car. I needed to disassemble the dashboard and reconnect the wires. They also failed to re-run my dashcam power wire or my microphone for my cell phone instead just leaving them hanging from the windshield. Needless to say, I will never use this dealership again and I will dissuade anyone I know from ever using it. After my situation I checked out their Google and Yelp reviews and found out that this money grab is a common occurrence there and I'm not the only one to complain about it. More
I purchased a used Jeep Grand Cherokee from this dealer from out of state. They told me that they would be able to register the jeep within 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks, I called to find out the status. Did no from out of state. They told me that they would be able to register the jeep within 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks, I called to find out the status. Did not get any clear explanation. Later I got a text and an email telling me I needed to take the car in for a VIN verification. This should have been told to me at the time of purchase. My temp plate expired after 30 days (NJ doesn't issue temp plate renewals) which left me without a vehicle to drive. It seemed that once I bought the jeep, no one at the dealership took responsibility for following up with the registration paperwork. It took a total of 45 days to finally get my registration and plates. More
