My family has been driving VW/Audi cars since college for past 15 years. Having the experience of repeat VW buy/lease of 7 cars in various VW dealerships, I can easily compare and rank The Autobarn Evanston past 15 years. Having the experience of repeat VW buy/lease of 7 cars in various VW dealerships, I can easily compare and rank The Autobarn Evanston Volkswagen vs. previous deals and vs. other dealerships where I tried to obtain 2 VW cars at the same time. For me this was a true experience of great straight forward, pressure free purchase process. My time was respected and no one tried to exhaust me. (I want best deal based on internet research/bids and timing of the deal. I do not want to play “name your price” and then let’s meet in the middle three hours later) I did not have to spend two hours of identifying if they can do a better deal vs. Internet or other area dealers. The sales person, Bojan Kokanovic was great, respectful, cordial and fast. This dealership just works faster and more efficiently. (Again this is my 7’s VW/Audi car in the family) Bojan explained and demonstrated new features of the car after the purchase and the lease of the cars. He did not rush through it. And at no point of my purchase process they try to speak negatively about other dealerships. More

I would recommend this dealership because they did everything they could to match the quality and price on the car I was looking for. They really made me feel like they appreciated my business and be everything they could to match the quality and price on the car I was looking for. Would NOT recommend this dealer to anyone. They are concerned more with themselves instead of meeting their customers needs. The price that is advertised online is not the price that they are selling t concerned more with themselves instead of meeting their customers needs. The price that is advertised online is not the price that they are selling the vehicle for. It's a FAKE advertisement. Once you come in and sit down to talk about price, they add the transportation fee of about $750, price of doing the safety inspection (another $800-1000) and if the vehicle is certified, they will add another $1500-2000. So whatever the price is listed online, add another $3000-4000 to the price. And as for your trade in, they give you way below the KBB value. You are a victim with them. Once your transaction is completed, they ignore your needs and your calls. They will never follow up with anything. You will be the one calling them about everything. Their sales people lack knowledge. They don't show you anything with the vehicle and try to get you out of the door as fast as they can. So you leave with many questions unanswered. Their finance department is beyond bad. If you don't pay close attention, many errors will be made. You will be the one who is catching the errors instead of the person doing your paperwork. They don't explain anything of the paper/costs. Furthermore, they will give you higher interest rate even if you can get lower because according to the one that helped me and this is quoting him "We like to use certain financial institutions because we like to give them more business and in return Autobarn gets more business, especially those who don't have good credit history the bank will approve them." So in other words I was told I'll give you higher rate with this bank that we prefer so in future we get those approved that wouldn't otherwise. Really!?!?Wouldn't you want your buyer to get the best possible rate? Worst ever experience with buying vehicle and customer service is beyond bad. They need some extreme change in their organizational structure as well as their culture. More
