I started a potential purchase about 3-4 weeks ago and the attention and professionalism experienced was less than acceptable. We were working on a deal and when I came back and presented my offer the discussions ended. I have never heard back with a yes, no, kiss ma ___. Therefore I figured you all were no longer interested in selling me a vehicle. There are a lot of dealerships out there that I am sure would be interested in my business. I have been a ford owner since 1964 and in all those years have not deviated from a ford product, but maybe it is time. More
Worse customer service ever!!! Took vehicle in for a side mirror replacement. 7 days to replace 1 mirror. Could not get anyone to return calls so I had to drive to dealer to get ans Took vehicle in for a side mirror replacement. 7 days to replace 1 mirror. Could not get anyone to return calls so I had to drive to dealer to get answers. Then was lied to about part being ordered after I check with parts dept to verify. When vehicle was finally repaired. The service writer placed ticket and keys on desk and said my vehicle was outside. Did not explain how or why the mirror was broke or even if it was fixed correctly. I will never darken the doors of Cloninger Ford again to repair my vehicle. Jonathan Seaford the ford technician did a fabulous job on the repair and completed it in a timely manner when he finally got the parts. More
Ford Focus recall notice I received a notice in the mail from Ford regarding a possible recall on my Focus for transmission related issues. Since having worked so successfully I received a notice in the mail from Ford regarding a possible recall on my Focus for transmission related issues. Since having worked so successfully with him in the past, there was absolutely NO question that my point of contact would be Lonnie Burgess. He was exceptional in explaining that we most likely did not have an issue with our vehicle but that a service/mechanical evaluation was necessary to make certain. Fortunately our Focus did not need the work, but had it I would have worked with Lonnie again to make certain it was properly taken care of. In one week I had two different visits to the Cloninger service department - this recall notice and an oil change on another vehicle. In making these appointments, in addition to Lonnie, there was another individual who was a tremendous help - Lisa Prevost. She was exceptional in scheduling the appointments as well as the possibility of shuttle service should the Focus have needed further work. She is quick, efficient, and customer- friendly. There is no doubt that Cloninger Ford in Salisbury, NC has two "winners" in these two employees! More

Free service for a year! When I arrived they had my car in a different name. They recognized me from the previous visit and fixed my issue. I Hate Shopping for a New Vehicle You read correctly, I hate the car/truck buying experience. I always come well prepared but typically feel played or talked down to by the sales team You read correctly, I hate the car/truck buying experience. I always come well prepared but typically feel played or talked down to by the sales team and/or sales manager. This time around, Cloninger Ford was our 3rd dealership stop. They didn't hold me hostage but instead were more interested in finding us the right truck at the right price. There was no pressure or hidden numbers. They printed all the offers (3 total) from your dealership and the associated Carfax. They put them in three separate envelopes and told us to go home, consider the options, and stop by in a day or two to see if we could do business. The next morning, I received a follow-up call and set a time to stop by later that afternoon. By that time, we were disgusted with all the other dealerships we visited to include "First Team" right up the road. Your salesman (Roosevelt) and the used car manager (Bob), felt our frustration and let us test drive a few additional vehicles. We found one we liked (a 2015 Ford F150) that had come from a private party lease, we made an offer, and we all settled somewhere in the middle. The one thing dealerships can't get through their heads is not everyone cares about the payment. Savvy buyers know how must the vehicle you're offerning is worth before they arrive at your dealership, and just want to make an honest deal. I'm not sure what percentage of your customers are "cash" buyers like my wife and I but regardless of the customers credit worthiness, most just want to be treated respectfully and honestly. There has never been a car deal made today that can't be made tomorrow. Therefore, we were sold by our personal experience with Roosevelt and Bob (the used car manager). They made us want to buy from your dealership... even if it took a few days to find the right truck at the right price. These gentlemen need to be recognized for their excellence and they should mentor other sales staff on how to keep customers rather than losing them to the "What will it take to make a deal today" sales gimmicks you find at most dealerships. Yes, I know some customers take your paperwork down the street and try to beat your best deal... but if you give the right deal up front and continue to treat your customers with the same respect and courtesy we found in both Roosevelt and Bob, you'll gain more customers than you ever loose. Our sales experience at Cloninger Ford get's an A+ in my humble opinion. As long as they are there representing your dealership, Cloninger will be our first stop when we shop for our next vehicle.
