During the process salesman Jim Balezzi was 24/25, 2022 Owner - John Ashdale Salesman - Jim Ballezzi Attempted to purchase a Hyundai Santa Cruz. During the process salesman Jim Balezzi was verbally and physically threatening and abusive. Mr. Balezzi attempted and semi-succeded in bullying/threatening us into buying a vehicle all the while the owner, John Ashdale, listened in and did nothing himself to stop Mr. Balezzi. Mr. Balezzi verbally threatened the owner of "Joey's Pizza" that he was going to have him arrested/have the cops called on him for overcharging him for a pizza delivery that he purchased for us so we would stay at the dealership and not leave. He verbally abused/threatened this owner over the phone where all employees and customers could hear. This intimidated me enough that I went outside and called my bank to cancel the loan due to his threatening/bullying behavior. When I returned back inside Mr. Ballezzi had my bank rep on speaker phone pretending to be me and verbally giving the bank rep my social security number, address, and date of birth. I never authorized the release of this information nor for Mr. Ballezzi to write it down nor say it out loud verbally. Mr. Ballezzi was pretending to be me, giving out very private/sensitive information so he could complete a sale all the while the Owner, John Ashdale, sat feet away listening and allowing for this to occur and proceed. Mr. Balezzi charged my credit card $3,000 for a down payment and an additional $75 as a processing "fee." The dealership refused to immediately refund my card. Mr. Balezzi threw my card at me and stated "you'll get a check in 2 to 3 weeks in the mail." I persisted and he refused to refund the $75 processing fee. I contacted owner John Ashdale via email and phone. During the phone conversation he admitted that everything Mr. Balezzi did was unprofessional. Now Mr. Ashdale and Mr. Balezzi are bullying me into returning the spare key, and will not come retrieve it themselves. I feel intimidated. More

(I made this mistake and stepped into every used car salesman tactics even though I bought a new car.) Remember, you're free to walk away and not sign anything if you're not comfortable with the terms and conditions they give you because PA does NOT have a "cooling off period" where you can change your mind after you sign. Also, they will add extra costs (nitrogen tires, Crystal Fusion, pre-delivery inspection? all totaling close to $1,000. They discuss the nitrogen and Crystal Fusion but don't mention that they're OPTIONAL add-on warranty costs so I incorrectly assumed they were all part of the car price.) to the sale price that you originally agreed upon. Like other customers have stated, we came to see a vehicle that was advertised on their website and was told that they had it in stock only to find out when we arrive that it's not but they do have another more expensive model (with dealer upcharges near $6,000 over MSRP so that you think that you're getting a "good deal" if you're able to get down closer MSRP) . If you're well prepared, you may be able to get a good deal from them but don't assume they'll be upfront with you. I've bought cars from other dealerships before but I've never felt so cheated as I did buying from Colonial. Personally, I suggest that you STAY AWAY from doing business with Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown. More

She rudely answered “if you aren’t aware there is a national car shortage, we haven’t had loaner cars in over a year “. I said okay I will be waiting then. Fast forward to today while dropping my car off. I told her I knew what the problem was Michelle replied with an attitude “Are you a mechanic?” Then she said we will call you when it’s done. I stated I will be waiting she said “no I have you down as a dropping off” I told her I said I’ll be waiting. She said “ feel free to sit here all day” I asked for my keys and left. I called service manager Steve to explain my experience. He was also very unprofessional his response “ I heard a different story from my advisors and have never had any problem with them before all I can do is apologize. “. He then hung up on me. I stopped in this dealership in September after finding out that the Santa Cruz was available. My initial interaction with the folks at the dealership was positive - especially Michael Wilkinson. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. After the test drive, I decided that the vehicle was one that I would like to purchase (just a different color and trim). They offered to order the vehicle for me with no deposit or obligation. We went back and forth on my trade value, but ultimately decided upon a trade in amount and price for the new vehicle (or so I thought). Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, and the vehicle arrived exactly as ordered. I go in to complete the transaction and they were prepping the vehicle for delivery. I test drove it and confirmed it was everything I wanted and was ready to finalize the deal. That's when things took a turn. We went from an agreed upon price for the trade and new vehicle to them suddenly offering LESS for my vehicle which I could have sold to Carmax for more than they were offering on trade. They wouldn't allow me to sell the car elsewhere and still buy their car at the agreed price. To make matters worse, they pulled my credit before telling me any of these details. I was very transparent throughout the entire process and feel like I was treated unfairly when I had everything documented via email and there was no mention of these sudden price changes. On top of that, to add insult to injury, I was told that they could sell the car for 10k over sticker to someone else. This obviously isn't very customer centric although I understand that dealerships need to make money. But a ridiculous markup over MSRP just takes the cake, especially when it's done at the last minute. You aren't getting anything for that money besides upside down in a loan on a vehicle that you are overpaying for. I will never shop at this dealership again and will tell anyone that will listen what happened to me as this is a disgrace. The market won't always be this way and at some point it will right itself. Problem is, places like this will remain in business as there is always someone who is willing to pay. I have since taken my business elsewhere and await delivery of my new vehicle. I most certainly will not be taking it here for service or anything. More

I purchased a 2 year old used car on September 1st. I can safely say it was not a bad buying experience until the day after when I noticed a horrid smell in the car. I take my kids to school and my youngest is crying because there's sticky stuff on arm from the plastic part of the arm rest. Parting the seat to try to fix the broken seat belt (yes the seat belt doesn't work, great to find that out during drop off to school) I can see huge pieces of dry crusted food. The used cars they sell apparently aren't detailed according to Koop. They're just kinda cleaned he says. This is after 3 emails that he ignored and I felt like he instantly receded when he answered the phone, like he forgot NOT to answer. Not a big deal I suppose because I can get it detailed. But then...a piece of the car comes flying off as I'm driving it. An officer was nice enough to retrieve the peice after I pulled over because I thought I hit something. I notice that the back bottom of the exteriors are terribly loose. I can see that they were just slapped on and not secured which is great if you're trying to sell a car and don't give a crap about what happens later. Truth is...they were super attentive when I wanted to buy a car, now I can't even get someone to return my emails or my calls. When I did speak to someone my call got transferred like 3 different times and I feel like I'm bothering them. Recap: dirty interior, broken seat belts, pieces of exterior fly off in traffic. Went to look at the G70 for a lease...a $52k car... I've gotten quotes for similar cars as well as other genesis dealers. This place tried to screw me how so you ask?? Went to BMW to look at a $60k car which leases for $550 a month. Went to another genesis dealer which leases for around $600 a month. What did they want? They try to gouge me for in a $52k vehicle?? $910 a month with the same exact lease requirements. So double what i was quoted for several other dealers. How does he do it?? Possibly just soulless More

I called multiple times, leaving messages - no response. Finally, I spoke to a woman answering the phone last evening and she told me who to contact. I did so this morning, and I think the issue is resolved. Everything is great when making the sale. But no help, contact or guidance afterwards. Would never recommend this place. More
