While I love my car, recently upon buying out my lease I’m having (since still not resolved) a terrible experience and ultimately I feel like I’ve been swindled and scammed. One of the sales associates (M I’m having (since still not resolved) a terrible experience and ultimately I feel like I’ve been swindled and scammed. One of the sales associates (Marc Vincent) called about my lease end I told him repeatedly the amount I could put down, the only thing we EVER spoke about being flexible was my monthly payment. The down payment amount never changed. I’m a mother with four kids, I told him it was hard for me to go down that Sunday I could stop by after work on Monday to sign the papers. He said the offer might not be on the table I need to come in, I went in reluctantly even texting it was a bad time. Marc then promised me a detail and to gas up the car. So I rushed in & I signed the papers to get home to my kids. (Screenshots to attest to this, saying it’s a bad time and the promise of fuel and detail) I get in my car, no gas was given (first problem) but rushing back to my kids I didn’t say anything. And the “detail” was a vacuum of the front seat only. (Second problem) I bring the down payment the next day (as it was a Sunday when I went to sign and the bank was closed.) When I hand them the money I’m told it’s $500 short. 500?! Now I’m confused because again I only offered one amount to down pay, never wavered. The salesman (Marc) then admitted it was “his bad”, he misunderstood because a few months prior when I stopped in I offered to put down more then. Yes that was then, but a pandemic is going on and time has passed & on the phone (When the deal was made) I said one number and one number only, because it’s all I can currently afford. Things change. But now I’m told I’m still responsible for the difference if I want the same deal. So he messes up, admitted he messed up and I’m still on the hook? He told the finance manager Mike the wrong number somehow someway and that’s my fault. My husband went down today to try and come to a conclusion & was told their hands are tied. The GM is out of town, wait till Tuesday to see if anything can be done. It’s a pandemic people are struggling and I don’t see how a sales associate can just add an extra $500 on top of your down payment that was NEVER discussed, expect to you be able to cover it, rush you into signing AND make false claims about gas and a detail. Even admitted since it was a lease to buy he wasn’t suppose to offer that. So why offer ? I now just feel like I’ve been dealt shady business instead of being happy with now owning my car. GMC is a great car and in the past I WAS happy thats why I gave two stars even though this experience has been worthy of zero. Nobody should leave feeling scammed. It’s bad business. I will say the finance manager Mike has been apologetic and none of this is his fault as he just ran what was given to him. But I do think a remedy needs to be found. More
