Uncomfortable Experience from the Hello Walked into Gastonia Kia and immediately felt uncomfortable. I asked for an experienced sales associate. Which I did not receive. However from the Walked into Gastonia Kia and immediately felt uncomfortable. I asked for an experienced sales associate. Which I did not receive. However from the get go I was asked a bunch of personal questions in a room full of tables where other customers were, no privacy...no dignity. They didn't even want to discuss why I was there or my needs for car buying. I'm sorry but I'm not going to give you a bunch of personal information if you do not have the vehicle I am looking for. The salesman was not genuine and I felt as if Kia of Gastonia just wanted all my information. I asked the salesman why they didn't ask about my needs and he just said, "Well this is just our process." How rude. Customer service & friendliness first. Needless to say I let him know I was uncomfortable with the process and I left. I was not impressed and I felt as if they did not take me seriously as a customer. Pass on this one folks. If you like Kia's, buy a used one from Carmax. Much friendlier and the 'process" was not in play when I was met at the door. More
Very Bad! Probably needs to be shut down! Wow, where do I begin? After being there almost an hour I was allowed to go see the car I was interested in. My husband asked the sales person what t Wow, where do I begin? After being there almost an hour I was allowed to go see the car I was interested in. My husband asked the sales person what the gas mileage was and he told us the wrong answer. After my husband corrected him he said he just started there. After we took it for a test drive we were left in a room with many tables and chairs. This is where you talk numbers, give personal information and so on. I could hear personal information being given from everyone else in the room so of course they could hear mine. Not good! Secondly, left sitting at our table was a piece of paper with some ones info on it. I did not see a social but it did have a name, education, yearly salary, etc. Once again, not good and I do believe very illegal. After we told the guys that we had to leave many times I mentioned that paper on the table. All of a sudden they got us out fast. That told me a lot! Very unprofessional! Very sad! I love the car and would have bought under different terms. Instead I have a new Honda which I love! My suggestion to any one looking... Run! My suggestion to Kia... You have nice cars so get it together professionally before you get shut down! More
Dishonest sales tactics Nikki made an appointment with me to show me a van I was interested in. I arrived at this dealership on time to see the van. And she told me that the van was sold one hour prior to my arrival. If they actually sold the van, then she should have given me a courtesy call to save me a trip out. I believe it was a sells tactic to get me out there. More

No pressure, allowed me to have what I wanted After some very bad experiences over the years, I learned to dread the process of getting a new car. Today I ran into Trey Odom at Kia of Gastonia and he actually listened to me and helped me find a car that fitted into MY requirements, not their sales goals. Had to drive 35 miles to find them but it was well worth the drive. Thank you More
Actually enjoyed a car buying experience My wife constantly was getting flyers asking for us to to trade her car in and get a new one. After receiving the tenth flyer this month, I joked tha My wife constantly was getting flyers asking for us to to trade her car in and get a new one. After receiving the tenth flyer this month, I joked that we should take it up and handed it to her. I found this mildly humerous because this particular dealership was 45 minutes away and there was another Kia dealership ten minutes down the road. For a variety of coincidences, we ended up going to Kia of Gastonia, in spite of the distance from home. It ended up being an amazing experience. The salesman was incredibly friendly and not at all domineering like many dealers. The finance specialist was quick and helpful too. We ended up getting a much nicer car for cheaper than we planned. I recommend them and plan on coming back in spite of the distance for our next purchase. More
Poor customer service We just came out of a situation that was really hard on my family. We needed a car and I had done a ton of research in the last two months, now I just We just came out of a situation that was really hard on my family. We needed a car and I had done a ton of research in the last two months, now I just needed to find the right dealership. When we arrived at Kia, we walked up to the top of the lot. It was about 10 mins after we arrived that someone came to help us. He was a nice gentleman, but every single time I asked about a vehicles price, he had no idea and did not even make an attempt to look it up for us or even let us physically look inside the car. My husband and I talked to him about what we were looking for. He told us about the car that had been there for over 90 days and said they like to get those sold, but he wasn't sure of the price. My husband started talking more with him and he explained that they like to run your credit first to see where we stand. That made me wonder how this dealership worked. I did not want to run my credit until I knew what I wanted. We left and immediately turned into another dealership. Later, we went to another dealership where we had the best customer service, but we had to have a down payment and just couldn't do the amount. So we went back to Kia to see what they could do for us. We looked for the man that helped us earlier because at first, we liked him. I asked about two certain vehicles, again, he could not tell me the price. So guess what, I looked it up on their website and got it myself. All we did was talk. So we went inside to make him happy and did the credit app. He asked about what price range we could afford, and he said with that, he had something for us and went to get the car, but NOT the two cars I had in mind. He brought a different one, one that wasn't what I really wanted. He tried to talk all the positives about it, but I was skeptical. I did test drive it, but I noticed it pulled to the right and you have to push the breaks pretty hard to make it stop. It just wasn't what I wanted. I had my mind set on certain features. We went inside so he could get the price of the vehicle which took forever because there were so many salesman and only one guy behind the counter. What's crazy is our salesman went missing and I look behind me and he was with another family! I was like, really! I couldn't wait any longer, so I went to the car and waited for my husband. When they came out, he asked us what he could do to get us in that car that I didn't really want. And gave us the price they had it listed for and would sell it for that. My husband said nothing could get us in that car because of the issues. The salesman then said he couldn't help us then. He then proceeded to walk away and my husband asked him how many credit companies they used and he acted like he did not want to answer. In the end, if I was able to test drive those two cars I originally asked about in the first place, I may have been willing to buy from Kia. I ended up going to the other dealership where I was approved and put down the payment the credit company asked for. I paid less for that car which was a year newer and had less miles than the car at Kia. The salesman at Kia stated to us that Kia has one of the highest trade back ratings, it's funny that two other car lots said, no, Kia does not have the highest trade back value. Those two dealerships also didn't make us feel like their brand was the best either as they talked good about every type of car and was honest about them. More
