He was nothing but helpful and honest with me and my family from the beginning. We live in Santan Valley, and Nate was upfront and honest about what he was going to be able to do for us. I have never met a salesman who was more informative and helpful. I am more than willing to help family and friends to come see Nate with any car buying needs that may come up. Thank you so much for everything that you did. More

From the time we exited our vehicle, he was very helpful and not once pushy! We were very specific with what we wanted on the vehicle, color, motor and interior. Jimmy went out of his way to find our vehicle that matched all of our criteria. He answered all of our questions and was amazing! This is our second vehicle we have purchased with Courtesy Chevrolet and couldn’t be more impressed with their coustomer service! We would definitely recommend them and will purchase our future vehicles with them! -Angela S. More

With ears clo In my 50 years of dealing with auto dealerships in the valley, few have put fourth an honest effort to retain old values and humbleness. With ears closed and eyes focused on profit, the bait and switch dealerships continue to stay in the shadow of Courtesy Chevrolet; such dealerships remain limited to only the folks who don't do their homework walking onto their lot. Oddly enough it appears that people do not realize radio personalities are paid for their recommendation they just heard, and how sad, the person who falls for that scripted ad will grow old before that particular light bulb comes on. 4.7 stars? Like a vehicle from Courtesy, I'm not buying it! I was not able to come to terms with Courtesy on the vehicle I was interested in and that's okay. Deals don't work out for lots of reasons every day b I was not able to come to terms with Courtesy on the vehicle I was interested in and that's okay. Deals don't work out for lots of reasons every day but let me explain some of the reasons why mine didn't. The 2 managers and 1 finance person I spoke to during my dealings with them tried to treat me like a chump and overcharge me every chance they got. I was interested in buying a used mini-cargo van. I found online that Courtesy had five units for sale all of the same make and model and all very fairly priced. I first visited the dealership 45 minutes before closing on Thursday, May 3rd. At that time I met and began working with sales associate Fabian Martinez. Fabian explained that their commercial vehicles were kept in on off-site auxiliary lot 2 blocks away. He grabbed a vehicle and quickly brought me to the vans but since it was dark and the lot was un-lit I told him I would need to return during daylight hours to see the vehicles more closely. I returned Saturday afternoon, May 5th. Fabian immediately grabbed another car and drove us back to the auxiliary lot where I was able to check out the vehicles in more detail. After inspecting the vans I told Fabian I was interested in purchasing any one of them, they were all the same enough to me. I also explained that I would be interested in financing my purchase through the dealership since both of my banking institutions didn't write auto loans on what were traditionally considered commercial vehicles. I told him that I needed to leave but that I wanted him to get back to me with their best offer. He in turn asked me to fill out their online financing application. He told me that once they had and processed my application that he would email me with the deal as they had it written. An hour and a half after leaving the dealership on the 5th I texted Fabian to let him know that the financing application had been completed and submitted online. He replied a bit later saying that he would have his manager look it over. Later that evening, I received a response email from Jenny of the on-line sales team at Courtesy. She was following up on my finance application. She asked me if she had a good email address to send me information. I responded that she did, but mentioned again, as I had in my application, that I was already working with Fabian. After that I did not hear anything else from Jenny. This is the first example of the right hand not talking to the left and it will become a running theme very quickly. At 10:30 the next morning I texted Fabian that I had not heard back from him or received the email he promised. I told him I wanted to finish the deal that day if possible and finally I told him about hearing from the on-line sales team and that I told them that he and I were already working together. After some time Fabian responded that he needed 15 minutes and that he would be sending numbers. He said they couldn't pull my credit the night before because of an issue with their system. Issues with their system’s also becomes a running theme as well. 4 hours later I received a text from Fabian saying my financing was approved and could I come in. At that point, since 15 minutes had become 4 hours, I couldn't. I said we could do it later Monday evening if he was working. He texted he wasn't, but could come in just for me if I could tell him what time. I said maybe 7:30 but not to worry, we could do it Tuesday or Wednesday if that was easier. He said no, anytime Monday after 5 was fine. I then asked if he was still going to email me the numbers. To that he did not reply. See, I was surprised from the onset that Fabian offered to email me numbers. It has been my experience that dealerships prefer not to give customers hard numbers on paper, but he offered, so I was hopeful that Courtesy would be different. They aren't. I did get a call after my texting with Fabian from someone named Carlos who identified himself as a sales manager at Courtesy. He assured me he was working on my deal and would have the numbers sent to me soon. Again, this never happened. The next day, at 12:45 pm, Monday, May 7th I still had not heard back from Fabian, or anyone else at Courtesy or received the promised email so I texted him and asked again for the numbers to be sent to me. A half an hour later Fabian responded that his manager (unnamed) would be sending me the numbers in about an hour and that the manager already had all my info. The same day at 4:30 I had still not heard anything so I sent Fabian yet another text requesting numbers and reminding him that if he wanted to do the deal that day I needed to see their offer before I came in. This is where things started getting 'fun'. 30 minutes later, at 5 pm, I received a call from someone else that identified himself as a sales manager from Courtesy and though I didn't catch his name, it was not Carlos. He started telling me that I had been approved for financing at a rate of 10% and that with my $2000 deposit my payment schedule would be $400 for 75 months. I stopped him and asked where my email was. He said he didn't know what I was talking about and had just had this deal "thrown on him". I then explained that I had not ever agreed to a $2000 deposit, and that I couldn't for the life of me, figure out how they came up with a repayment plan that totaled $30,000 for a used, $15,000 cargo van with $2000 down, but that was why I insisted on seeing the deal written out. He simply went back to highlighting the ridiculous terms of their 'deal' when I stopped him again and told him that I didn't want to negotiate over the phone, and that I was in fact at work and couldn't talk to him about the deal anymore at that time. I again asked that the deal be sent to me electronically, because in its current state I was not interested in it. I ended the call. No less than 10 minutes later I received another call from Courtesy, this time from Jeremy in the finance department. I started by explaining that I had just told the last manager that I was not interested or able to discuss the deal over the phone at that time and yet they called me right back anyway. Jeremy ignored me and started going over the deal with me in more detail, asking me if I really wanted the warranty and security package because if I didn't that would save me some money. I, for at least the 7th time, asked to have the deal sent to me, because no, I did not want the warranty and security package. The warranty and security package had never been offered let alone discussed with me. I was also sure at that point that they had written the deal for themselves, not for me, the customer. Jeremy's response was that the paperwork was big and long and complicated so they weren't in the habit of scanning and emailing it due to the difficulty. Why Jeremy thought I was concerned about the difficulties of his job I am unsure but at that point I told him I was no longer interested in doing business with his company and to please scratch the deal. And if that was the end of the story I wouldn't be taking an hour of my life to write this ridiculously long review. Two days later, on Wednesday May 9th, 7 days after my first visit to Courtesy, I received another call from sales manager Carlos at 3:40 pm. Carlos asked me if I ever received his email with the deal they had put together for me. I said I had not, most likely because it was never sent. We confirmed my email address and Carlos swore he sent it to me. I told him that I didn't believe him and that at that point, like I had told Jeremy, I wasn't interested in doing business with his company and ended the call. It’s 2018. Emails don’t get lost, go missing or disappear. Unless you never send them in the first place. Throughout the process I did enjoy working with Fabian, though he was often slow to respond and usually didn't do what he said he was going to do, he was a nice enough guy. I decided that if he and I could work something out I would give it one last try. I gave Fabian a text at 4:20 pm. I told him that I was only interested in dealing with him if he wanted to give me a call to see if we could work out the deal. He called me back promptly where I explained my frustrations with his managers and for the fact that I still had never actually been shown a deal electronically. I then told him that I was not going to be using their financing and that I just wanted his best deal, no games and that I wanted it sent to me. He said he understood and that he would send me something very soon and that it would come in the way of a text. Three hours later I received the text. The price, doc fees, license / title, taxes were all in order, but I didn't understand the $1764 in accessories for a used, base, empty cargo van. Fabian explained that the charges were for Connect Protect an after-market Lojack type product and for a lifetime warranty on window tinting. Okay, an aftermarket gps enabled anti-theft tracking device can be easily bought and installed for around $250. And lifetime warranty on window tinting? On a cargo van? A CARGO VAN? WITH TWO WINDOWS? $1764. I mean, come on. COME. ON. I told Fabian that I didn't need or want either of the 'accessories' and that they would need to be removed to make the deal happen. His response was, "Help me out brother. Let's split the accessories in half?" I countered with my final offer and left it with him as a simple yes or no answer. The answer, was of course, no. I don't begrudge a company making money and Courtesy has the same rights and abilities to make a profit as any other business. But what Courtesy tried to do was gouge me, lie to me, take advantage of me and treat me like a chump, EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. We could have all saved ourselves the time and hassle if they had just sent me the deal (like their sales rep had offered at the very beginning) the day I said I was interested in purchasing. But they didn't. They strung me along. They wrote ridiculous deals. They played dumb. They lost my business. If you read their Yelp reviews, where they are currently maintaining a 2.5 star average and where 85% of their last 20 reviews are 1 star I think you'll get a better gauge of how they do business then you will here. It's gotten so bad on Yelp that their Business Customer Service expert hasn't responded to a review in over 7 weeks. I had a bad experience with Courtesy Chevrolet. I would guess that the way they are currently run, you will too. Good luck. More
