Mr. Keyes, I am happy that you were able to get your window serviced to your satisfaction. We are a Hyundai / Genesis dealership and as such we have very specific protocols and requirements that we have to follow. While an "independent shop" may be able to install a cable for your window, we have much stricter standards. In order for us to warranty the parts and labor, we replace the entire mechanism and in this case that would involve the motor relay, cable, etc. If one part of the mechanism fails then it is just a matter of time before other parts have a problem.
