Right on Time! Took my 2016 GMC Sierra in for a recall item. Made 10AM appointment. Bill Hevel saw me at 10:05 said the truck would be ready in 45 minutes. MULTIPLE SALES PROBLEMS Over 2+ weeks on phone with "Sarge" McCool prior to going into dealership, 800+ Credit, Retired Military, Ford Conquest Lease, numbers basically done Over 2+ weeks on phone with "Sarge" McCool prior to going into dealership, 800+ Credit, Retired Military, Ford Conquest Lease, numbers basically done & agreed to prior to walking in dealership. Basically walk in sign papers 1.5 hours at most per Sarge this would be the deal, my wife is coming off of 3 broken toes & is her first day back walking, Sarge, "I will have a golf cart for her and drive her right into the showroom, guess what no golf cart, no "Sarge", told him exactly what time we would be there. Had to ask for him and waited 15+ minutes for him to greet us. Sarge already had our SSN, I did credit aps online & he had copies of our insurance cards & driver licenses. Our 1 .5 hour visit turned into 4.5 hours because "Sarge" had lost our paperwork, we had to fill everything out all over like Brand New. Then "Sarge" plus 3 of his coworkers couldn't figure out how to pair our phones, so had to do that the next day via phone with Chris Sullo who was Exceptional at that task. Sarge forgot to tell me I would need a copy of my military paystub even though I had the GM Military Certificate already printed out from their military website which GM verifies??? I got "Sarge" the copies by 0700 the next morning and am harassed by "Sarge" for 3 more days saying that isn't the right copy????? My wife is taken into Finance ALONE without me and told to start to sign while "Sarge" and I were attempting to pair our phones, George from Finance had her signing her life away without me present???? The odometer miles on the new car were stated wrong on our new lease contract, 29 on car, paperwork said 5. Then we were turning our lease 2016 Buick Encore in and Sarge & I had talked about value of $20.5K, my wife was forced to sign lease turn in paperwork of $18.8K????? Disposition Fee of $495 was slid into the deal when "Sarge"& Craig Blacklidge/GM had specifically said it would not be in the deal, she was forced to sign by George while I was working on phones. Finally left dealership at 2315 hours (1115 PM for non military) and get 3 miles from dealership when "Sarge" calls us saying Turn Around, I got your 2nd key in my pocket, guess what, Turn Around, so 4.5 hours in all, way too long for a deal already done and 2 800+ Premier Credit Customers!!!! Then I receive an email from Craig Blacklidge next day asking me to not HURT them too BAD on the GM Survey, xxx?????? Thus I emailed Jim Myers, CEO with my concerns with no answer for 4 days and I then hear back from Joe Lamphier, VP, he offers us an additional $400 on our trade value and a $150 AMEX for our trouble with "Sarge". Thought that was good, then I see their "Black Friday" promotion where they are offering a $500 Visa card for vehicles purchased that weekend, due to our significant problems with our purchase I emailed Joe Lamphier and asked him whether he would do that for us, very short email received, NO Sorry!!!!! xxx Joe??????? John proved to be not only a friendly sales person, but also a genuinely customer-centered employee. He made sure he answered all our questions, and went the extra mile to ensure that our concerns were addressed. He put all effort possible to facilitate our purchase (a clear contrast to the finance consultant, George K.!), even when our lack of knowledge of some steps in the process, and unexpected life situations (like temporarily loosing the registration for my new car) may have resulted in last minute changes. John is definitely a valuable asset to this dealer! Unfortunately, the whole experience can not be measured just by John's performance. I chose to finance the car through my credit union, and this seemed to put a damp on the transaction. I knew exactly what I wanted, how much I wanted to pay for it, and what extras I did not want included. And I had a financing deal approved by the credit union, but I was made feel guilty for doing this, rather than financing through the dealer. Instead of explaining what my options were to secure payment to the dealer (by the credit union), I kept listening to "this car is not paid for" and decided to not take the car home until that was cleared. It only took 4 days (going to the dealer every day after work, and spending 2-3 hrs. there)! If it was not for John's intervention, I would've considered the cancellation of the transaction (I did call the credit union to explore the possibility of cancelling the financing).Tom was also very helpful. Individualized care is not common now-a-days, but John definitely displayed just that. More
