I have been in and out in less than 20 minutes both times, and this is with a loaner. I have taken my car for service to Volvo in Santa Monica and walked out after waiting over an hour to see the service advisor and not having a loaner, even though it was promised as I waited. I also recently took my car for service to Volvo in Pasadena and had to request a different advisor because the one who was assigned to me made it clear he was busy as I waited over 20 minutes (he yelled he was busy and I would have to wait as he was asked by a very nice woman to come help me), so I requested a different advisor, who was very nice but failed to return my call after leaving two messages. I would have walked out but this is the closest dealer to my house and my car had a light on and needed service ASAP. It is worth to drive the extra mile to Volvo in Culver City and get the service one deserves. More

Brake, Oil and regular maintenance on our XC60 I brought our 2015 XC60 due to squeaky breaks and a low engine oil light. Our service advisor, Damian Mucci, was able to get the brakes replaced, the 30,000 mile maintenance, and all recalls done within 1 day! He also provided me with a loaner car, which is a life saver! Culver City Volvo consistently has loaners/rentals when I take our Volvos in for service, and for a 2-car, 2-job, 2-kid family that is fantastic. More

Bad battery turned into engine problem I purchased my new 2016 XC60 from Volvo Culver City a couple years ago. A little over a year after, they replaced the engine (not really sure why). I purchased my new 2016 XC60 from Volvo Culver City a couple years ago. A little over a year after, they replaced the engine (not really sure why). Last week (a couple years from purchase), they battery died. I brought it to them for service and they told me it wasn’t just the battery, it was also the starter. They replaced the starter. The same day I picked up the car, the tire pressure and the check engine lights came off. I brought it back to them. They said there was a leak in engine fan. A day after I picked it up the second time, I had noticed the engine light came off and a couple minutes later I was having trouble driving the car. It was having difficulty changing gear and it sounded as if it was about to die. Now, I am very hesitant to bring my car back to them the third time. In the past, each time I brought my car for service (outside the regular maintenance), I had to bring it the second time and sometimes the third time. All of these repairs so far were covered by the manufacturer service warranty (except for wheel alignment), but is there an overservice here or they dont really know what they are doing? How did it go from a bad battery to bad engine? Are they going to replace the engine the second time? I am not a car savy, but something is not quite right here. More

Engine trouble two weeks after maintenance What happened to Culver City Volvo? They used to provide nice and honest service in the past 8 years for us. Hector and Martin were very nice and polite when they were doing business with you. But recently, our service appointments went to Damian, a new service person. Things changed ever since. We had our car maintenance at Culver City Volvo on Nov 10, 2017. My wife found the engine made noise on Nov 25 and the engine light went on. Called the service department again and scheduled an appointment on Dec 2. The service person Damian told me the car's engine oil trap made the noise and needed to be replaced. They will charge $786 for parts and labor. I double checked with Damian if they maitained the engine during the maintenance. He confirmed they did. So the engine problem happened after the maintenance. How is it possible the engine had been maintained two weeks ago and all of sudden it needs a replacement? I checked the website for Volvo oil trap replacement and found Volvo recommends a replacement at 100K miles, but our car is at 44K! I made my point that either they did not look at my engine during the maintenance or they touched some parts on the engine during the maintenance causing the noise today. Damian insisted to have the replacement and refused to look at the information I provided online. I declined the service and start searching for an alternative solution. More
