Not your average bunch of sales guys Sunday is my favorite day to browse through car lots. The reason is simple: they are generally unoccupied. Nothing is more aggravating than exploring the options of the 2nd largest investment one will typically own while simultaneously having to evade and distract a herd of sweaty sales guys hawking over a potential commission check. There are two kinds of automotive consumers: one who is generally apathetic about what kind of car they buy so long as it is in their favorite color, and the person who has an exact vehicle picked out with a combination of highly arbitrary options picked out and highlighted in the brochure. I am the latter. I am told that this is a car salesman's worse nightmare and when combined with a somewhat unrefined personality, you get a consumer that will drive salesmen to seriously rethink their life choices. I cruised in to Cumberland Toyota on a Tuesday afternoon proceeded to poke around the new Tacomas. I had fully molested the third unit when I realized that I had been on premises for over 10 minutes on a week day and yet to have the first business card crammed in my hand. I decided to get bold and look around fora rep and it was then that I saw it glistening in the showroom in all its TRD majesty: the TRD Tacoma Off Road. I knew this would be the point where the game would change; I would have small talk forced upon me while being lured into the little cubicles where minutes turn to hours as I am convinced to separate with my hard-earned dollars, but it was even the right color. As I entered the valley of the shadow of debt, I noticed that this showroom lacked the uptight, frantic aura that I have come to expect from similar environments. After I had my look at the specimen that had caught my eye, I was in love and I had done it all on my own. The time was right and it was then and only then that Kirby appeared. He was very helpful in looking over my detailed list of desires and informed me that what I really wanted would have to come from another lot but what I really REALLY wanted was next year's model if I could wait a little while. Long story short: I waited. Kirby, Brandon, and John all put up with me for 2 months after that day while my truck was released, allocated, built, and shipped. I have bought all kinds of cars from all kinds of places--work trucks from dealers, beaters from individuals, and exotics from all-indoor dealerships-and I have to say that dealing with this team was the best experience I have ever had. The deals are fair, the pressure is low, and everyone is professional yet down-to-earth. I will definitely be doing business here again and am completely satisfied with my experience. There are a lot more examples and good things I could say but I' over 500 words and the wife is waiting to waiting on me to watch our TV show. Thanks again guys! More
