My family has been buying cars from this location for over 15 years. The service department has become part of our family, especially with my Dad being sick. I decided it was time to buy a new car and over 15 years. The service department has become part of our family, especially with my Dad being sick. I decided it was time to buy a new car and wanted a 2012 Civic. I was hesitant, especially after reading the reviews, and the non-endorsement from Consumer Reports. It was made very clear in advance I was paying in full by check. Somehow we got convinced to finance which is exactly what we did not want to do. The care is almost 10 months old now. The leather on the driver side seat has already worn thru. I was told I was speaking to the wrong person when I called my sales person. I then called service and Sophia said she couldn't help me. I asked for a Service Advisor and noone was available. I was asked if I had Honda Care, was given an 800 number and of course they were closed. Left a message for Dan again-never returned my call. Knowing the service guys quite well, I decided to leave them a message. I'm bringing the car in next Saturday. I was told Management has to inspect the leather to determine if it is defective or if it was caused by me????? The indicator that I had to tighten the gas cap continues to come on even though it is as tight as I can make it. How could I have caused the leather to ruin in 10 months???? Unfortunately, I think this will be my last Honda-many people told me not to buy the 2012 but I've had Civics all along and thought it can't be that bad. I guess I'm finding out the hard way. I do have to say major kudos to the Service Department. Everyone working there is top notch in my books-can't say the same about my salesperson. More
What i like from this dealership is that it's a short distance from home and nice area. Euna Wilson is easily the best salesperson I've worked with to date. She was knowledgeable, respectful, and didn't pressure me at all. I wish all salespeople were like her. I bought a car from Angelo a couple of months ago. He is an excellent salesman! He is outgoing, friendly, positive, welcoming, and energetic. These folks are terrific. I've bought a number of cars before and I do know not to trust car dealers, but I found the automobile I was looking for on Kelly Blue Book at Honda of Nanuet, so I called and as before and I do know not to trust car dealers, but I found the automobile I was looking for on Kelly Blue Book at Honda of Nanuet, so I called and asked to speak to the sales manager on the phone. Mike (not sure of last nam, but I think it was Khan). I was surprised when Mike immediately accepted my offer and then told me he was turning me over to a man named Ertan, whom he had worked with for many years and thought I would like and possibly even trust. Two days later I drove to New York. It was a two hour drive, and I paid a friend's daughter to ride with me to bring back the car I had, which I did not want to trade. I had put a deposit on a credit card, and I brought a Cashier's check for the remainder as instructed by Ertan, who assured me could get a full refund if this car was not what I hoped or expected. This Honda Civic Hybrid was as excellent as Ertan was. There was a small scratch on the car (though it had only 15000 miles and was Honda Certified as well), so Ertan immediately sent the car over to the detailer, who was able to remove the scratch very quickly with wet sanding. Then Ertan handed me the keys for a test drive with my young friend. Ertan did not get into the car and talk incessantly, which has been one of my many bad experiences buying cars;( I think it's a way to keep the customer from being able to pay careful attention to issues like wind noise or speaker quality.) Then the credit person actually convinced me that I should finance the car, and I'm experienced enough to know whether or not I'm getting a deal that makes sense. I had intended to pay for the car out of my home equity line with a 4.5 interest rate, but the 4.0 rate Honda of Nanuet got me (I have excellent credit) was more than persuasive, and, this way, after 5 years I will actually own the car. With the credit line, I would have only paid about a hundred dollars interest per month, but I would never really own the car that way. I then chose to buy the extended warranty to 100,000 miles, another thing I have never been convinced to do before. I put 15k miles per year on the car, and, for an extra $30 a month, the would still be under warranty when I paid it off. The warranty is the same as Honda Certified, which means, basically, bumper-to-bumper. If I ever buy another car - and, right there, I almost bought a three years old Odyssey to replace our six year old one - Ertain Islami is who I will call. He's the best car person I've ever dealt with. Blanche Boyd More
