2016 Civic - A/C concern We purchased this car in July 2018 from the DCH group. In September 2018 (I've owned the car for 3 months...) the A/C condenser failed and was replace We purchased this car in July 2018 from the DCH group. In September 2018 (I've owned the car for 3 months...) the A/C condenser failed and was replaced under warranty at DCH Honda of Nanuet. In June 2019 (9 months later) the A/C condenser failed again. As the warranty had expired; I was made to pay DCH Honda of Nanuet for A/C condenser #3 to be installed in a car I had owned for less than a year. In March of 2020 (9 months later) the A/C system failed again. A/C condenser #4 was installed - and now covered under warranty as Honda realized there was an A/C condenser problem. (Note; In February of 2020 I was reimbursed by Honda for the June 2019 condenser repair expense; but only because I stumbled on the 'recall' program information myself. Honda did not contact me) Despite four (4) A/C condensers - the A/C system has never been strong. To replace the A/C condenser the system is evacuated of pressure and refrigerant A vacuum is pulled and confirmed to eliminate moisture - harmful to components, Oil is added to protect components - especially the compressor. Finally the system is charged with freon. This process is obviously disruptive and invasive to the entire system and not intended to happen multiple times in less than two years to any vehicle. Here we are in July of 2020 and the A/C system has failed again. The fourth A/C failure in a car I have owned for exactly two years. This time it's the compressor that has suffered and DCH Honda of Nanuet has quoted me $1,800.00 to repair. The DCH Honda of Nanuet service manager claims the A/C compressor failure is not related to, in any way connected with, or the result of the other THREE (3) A/C system failures, tear downs and repairs. How can an honest mechanic review the short history of this cars A/C problems and suspect failure of an A/C compressor in this situation could not be related? I have lost count of how many times this car has been taken to DCH Honda of Nanuet service for A/C concerns, picked up un-repaired waiting for parts, brought back again, picked up again... Ten trips? Twelve? It is being picked up again today - un-repaired. The nose of the car needs to be removed to replace the condenser. One time I had to return the car to the dealer as the nose was put back on crooked and had to be reinstalled properly. Our investment of time and resources in this regard are significant and ridiculous. We have yet to enjoy a Summer season with adequate or uninterrupted A/C in this car. A Honda Representative is being contacted for some type of review. How anything less than a complete repair can be offered without charge would be shocking. Stay tuned...... More
Absolutely terrible customer service. Said our car was ready for pick up and it wasn't. They didn't install a simple part and made us wait 30 mins while they got the correct part from "across the street". ready for pick up and it wasn't. Were not able to answer very basic questions about the products they sell or the recalls in place by Honda. Would not recommend using them. Word-of-mouth and recent reviews are not good. More

Awful Management Every time I go to Honda of Nanuet for service I ask myself why. Dominick Garetson the manager is the absolute worse. He is rude, dismissive and oper Every time I go to Honda of Nanuet for service I ask myself why. Dominick Garetson the manager is the absolute worse. He is rude, dismissive and operates as if it is all about him. The last time I went, they gave me a ticket but did not process my car. They told me the work would take 3 hours so i waited and after three hours learned they had not touched my car. Dominick instead of apologizing for their error blamed me. He said I'd been there before so I should have know that without a sheet detailing the work, I should have known they weren't working on my car. Absolutely unprofessional response. But its always the same, they goof and he blames the customer. HIs attitude desperately needs an adjustment. Today I went for a recall and instead of him saying I am sorry you need to schedule an appointment for a recall he was curt and dismissive. How does he still have this role?? unfortunately his disrespect of the customers has an impact on his staff. Change the head and the tail will follow. I believe the staff have the potential to be decent customer service reps but what they see from Dominick is a poor example. I had been having my car dealer serviced for years but I'd rather go anywhere but to this service center. More
