I’m sure the people here are good people at heart, but my experience was not so great, and it just goes to reinforce stereotypes about buying a used car... I bought a 2011 Honda Odyssey. I was coming from a 96 Toyota, so to me, even though it was 8 years old, it’s like having a brand new car. So, as a Honda dealer, DCH prides itself on their mechanics giving the car a thorough inspection, and then addressing any issues with the car before putting it up for sale. They claim to have some 100-point inspection or something... Well, when I test drive and decided to buy the van, it was wonderful, made no noises whatsoever, and other than a shimmy from the front wheels at 60 mph, was perfect. Dealer rebalanced the tires, no shimmy, awesome. When I went to drive it off the lot, it threw a check engine light. The dealer was nice enough to keep it and look at it. Not sure what the DTC code was for, but they basically just reset the ECU. I personally think whoever pumped the complementary tank of gas topped it off, which I found this van is EXTREMELY sensitive to. That’s fine, no big deal. Well, what I want to know is: how did the Honda mechanics overlook all the stuff wrong with my van, or did they report it and the dealership just chose not to fix anything? Issues in the first week of ownership: Timing belt tensioner broke, I was lucky the belt didn’t slip. Turns out the van had some cheap Chinese made parts on it, likely from the former owners “trusted” mechanic (Rule #1 - never put non-OEM, or at least Japanese, parts on a Honda. They’re pickier than other cars). So, had to do an entire timing belt job on it (that back cam sprocket is stubborn as all crap). Front brakes started squealing pretty bad. Sounded almost like racing pads as I came to a stop. Had to replace pads and rotors. The engine makes some kind of tweety bird squeaking noise. I haven’t figured out where this is coming from yet. Replaced the idler pulley and tensioner pulley, also a/c compressor clutch bearing, noise is still there. Haven’t figured this one out yet. The rubber boots for the sway bar links were ripped in half, apparently the joints had been greaseless for awhile, so the front end started clunking over bumps the next day after I got it. Also the driver’s side outer tie rod end was the same. The passenger’s side is on its way. Like...how does a Honda certified mechanic miss that? Or again, I personally think the mechanics reported it, and the dealership cheaped out and told them to shoot a little lithium grease in there to keep it quiet until after it was bought. If I was a betting man, I’d put money on that. So, maybe I just happened to get the one vehicle that needed everything all at once, and with my luck, that’s certainly possible. But, I don’t really trust DCH, don’t trust dealerships or repair shops in general, and this experience only reinforces that. I would strongly recommend against them for buying a used vehicle. More

I told him that I had an appointment later in the day, and when it turned out that I might be waiting longer than usual for the service I needed, he expedited the service on my vehicle. I was able to leave approximately 1.5 hours before he initially said the service would be done. Thank you for taking into consideration your customer's time and always being friendly! More
The cost of the service was really high. The location is convenient for me but I always feel way overcharged. And information about what was done is minimal. My only regrets is that the dealership pre-installs door edge guards and an alarm for an additional $1,300. I should have insisted on having the alarm removed from the car. For the price it should have at least been a Lojack, not just an ignition kill, but things moved so fast that this got lost in the shuffle. I did negotiate a good price on genuine HondaCare warranty, so overall I'm content, just not super happy. More
