I told him that my Nissan Pathfinder lease would be coming up at the end of January and that we should keep in touch. Gene did just that. He let me know over the course of the next four months every time Honda had a good leasing program. He patiently answered my questions about all models, features, and leasing/pricing options. I'm a journalist by trade so I would hit him with a battery of questions each time that must have felt like an FBI interrogation. But Gene never cracked. He remained patient and cordial and attentive and we finally hammered out a deal last night. It was during Honda's end-of-year holiday blitz. I got out of work late, and Gene, and his manager John Nyguyen and finance manager Patrick Connelly, all stayed AN HOUR AFTER CLOSING to make sure the deal got done.
