Good afternoon Barbara, I wanted to inform you that you are correct it is normally replaced between 30 and 50 thousand miles once the initial fluid is changed at approximately 15000 miles. The reason I say approximately is because your car is equipped with a maintenance minder system that tells you and your dealership what is due each time you have an oil change completed. See you can no longer has maintenance schedule, which is a good thing so you'll always know that you're not getting "ripped off". Carl your service advisor was just informing you what your car was asking to have the rear differential fluid replaced. If you would like a copy of what your maintenance minder system indicates I would be happy to provide you with this, or if you have any questions or if you would like a copy of what the maintenance minder indicators are please let me or the service manager Max know and we will be happy to provide you with this. Regardless I would like to have a conversation with you as customer satisfaction is of the upmost importance.
