Not the dave smith experience I was hoping for To start off, I had been wanting to buy a truck from Dave Smith since 1998 when I drove past to go to college. I found the truck I had been looking for, 2016 2500 Ram 5.7 hemi with all the whistles and bells. I hadn't bee able to find this engine at local dealerships. So I filled the form out online and a salesperson called me. Heather was kind and seemed genuine. We agreed on a price and I had financing in place with USAA. I had noticed in the pictures that there was some damage to a leather seat. I asked if that could be repaired or start the warranty process to get it repaired as soon as possible. At that time she told me, hold on let me get some pictures and see if it is even damaged. 3-4 days later she got some pictures, it wasn't in the area where I had noticed damage, but she reassure me that the truck was nice and smelled new and to rest easy there was no damage. I said ok, we got the deposit rolling and I set a date to meet up with her. I was headed to Washington to pick up my children from Grandmas. So, the start of the process was around July 25th and I set the date with her Saturday August 5th. I called almost daily to make sure everything was in order and we were good to go. I asked what she needed from me to make sure the process was as smooth as possible since I was driving 8 hours and had to continue another 4 hours after I picked the truck up. So we set a time of 3pm for that day. I texted when I was leaving that morning, that I had forgotten about the time difference and would arrive around two. She responded with ok, I texted when I got to Missoula, she responded with "sweet!" I arrive in Kellog and it was pretty crazy so I texted "where do I go" no response... so I proceed to find parking. As I'm parking a service guy backs into a customer's hitch and is in a pissy mood, I am almost ready to leave at this point already because of all the chaos going on, but of course I see my new truck all shiny and ready to go in the front row. I proceed to find Heather, I go into one building and ask so they direct me to her location. When I got to her sales desk everyone looked at me like I had two heads, No "welcome to dave smith how can I help you" I asked where heather was, they tried to call her no answer, no one knew where she was. So I asked one of the sales person's if he wouldn't mind letting me go for a test drive, we found the keys and 'Antone' with his new trainee 'Mel' went for a test drive with me. Antone went above and beyond, I wasn't his sale he didn't have to be nice or take the time to help me, but he did. So I give Antone 5 Stars. He was professional and had a lot of knowledge with what I was buying. So we return from the test drive and Heather is at her desk, with another customer, which I understand it's a Saturday and things are busy. She barely acknowledged me once she found out who I was and offered me some water and or coffee... sh also said she had a warm Mountain Dew?!? I didn't care for any...Norm the boss had to test drive my trade in and take pictures of it so he was doing that...(he locked my keys in it while he was doing that) things happen. So, I arrived at 2pm, we are sitting at 3 now which was my Original time to arrive. Heather is dealing with another customer (who I find out is an employee as I'm sitting in the corner waiting) so of course I become a little frustrated... I start watching and listening to the atmosphere. I was pretty disgusted by the unprofessionalism and shop talk. I talked to AJ as he walked in and out to use the computer, I was impressed with his work ethic and taking the time to talk to me. So, there I was 4pm arrived still no movement in starting the process, she did have my file folder sitting on her desk, which said "Yee-Haw" whether that was because I was from Wyoming or it had a part of my last name in it, funny I guess but with the totality of all the circumstances I was disgusted... I had been there for two hours, no movement on the vehicle deal, I had been working with her on the phone for about 2 weeks, and had financing in place. Finally around 415 she's able to show me the tour which is required. I meet Jeff in service, I give Jeff 5 stars he was professional and had the gift of gab! Nice guy! Next we go to Parts, I meet Mark, again 5 stars, great guy and we talked about a lot of things betweeen packing horses, ranching and the truck I was buying. He even took the time to help me install the mats I got for the truck he gave me a couple hats and was just an all around good professional guy. I get back into heather's corner she's dealing with her employee deal again and asks me to sit in the chair behind her and she will get back to me in a bit. She asks if someone can move my new truck around I tell her the only one that I will be ok with moving the truck is Antone since my personal stuff was in there" again he was happy to help. I ask if I can switch over my XM radio to the truck. She says fine, since she's busy. At this time we are sitting at 5pm, I just want to sign papers and get out so I can get on the road before dark. Finally as I'm finishing up with xm radio she says we are ready. So she escorts me to financing and sits me down while I wait for signing. I get in Jason's office at 515. He could tell I was frustrated. So we got to signing and went through the process. Jason again was five star when it came to professionalism and addressing the needs of a customer. We had documents signed within 30 mins shook hands and I was on my way. Thank you Jason! So, here I am an exact week later from signing for the truck. The truck had approx 19k miles on it. Remember the seat issue I asked about originally? Well, someone was dishonest and covered it up with some quick leather fixer paint... it's already rubbed off. So instead of being honest when I approached Heather about it, someone covered it up so either A.) they didn't have to deal with the warranty ordeal or B.) didn't want me to back out of the deal. I am completely and utterly disgusted. I would have dealt with someone and been happier with the outcome of even having it covered up the same way, knowing how to cover it up when it rubs off. But to have someone do this just for the sale is gross. I still love the truck, but we have 4 Rams at our house so I knew what I wanted, just not happy with the experience to get there. More

Quick and easy I bought a 2017 2500 Dodge Ram pick up from Dave smith . We are happy with our truck and I cant speak for all there sales staff. We are happy this is all over and we finally got our truck 6 weeks after we paid deposit. I would buy a vehicle from this dealership again only because there price is great. I would not work with Corey Johnson again. More

They were able to work out a deal that fixed the situation. I am in love with my jeep. My overall experience was good. However I am giving them a five because it was better then any of the other dealership I have bought in the last two years. However, the jeep is supposed to have Sirus XM and it does not. I bought the jeep Monday and it is now Wednesday and they still don't have figured out what is going on. I also just noticed that on the inside of the car on the driver side, there is black on the visor (that has tan interior), black on the side of the windshield, and on the ceiling. I'm assuming somebody with black, oily hands were in the car at some point. I am not happy about that and will be emailing my salesman (who is fantastic). I also love 7 hours away and was able to have everything finalized to an extent before I drove to the dealership, that way I did not waste a trip. More

Best prices you can find, poor communication after sell. I am giving Dave Smith Motors a 4 star rating based solely on price of vehicle. At the end of the sell in which I added over $9000 for accessories also which brought the price to just under $62,000. I tried to have the salesman send me pictures of the truck before and after the modifications and he was just too busy to do it. I was driving over 1300 miles to come and get the truck, but was told over and over to be patient, and he was very busy with customers. I realize he is busy, but I am a paying customer of $62,000 to their dealership, and should have been able for him to go to the lot and snap a few pictures to send me. Mind you, before I bought the vehicle, he called me everyday, sometimes a few times a day to sell me the truck. But after I bought it and asked for pictures, he suddenly was too busy to do it. This is really not good customer service. In addition, he told me before the sale that they would get a hotel room for me and my wife for a night when we came to get the truck. But after the sale, he said his manager told him they couldn't do it, but I could get a discount at the hotel by telling them I purchased a vehicle at their dealership. I told him that was not good customer service to tell the customer that they would get the hotel, and then after the sell, to not honor it. He said his manager was a drunk and that he gave him xxxx for even asking. This is very poor customer service. So they are eager to take my $62,000 but cant pay $90 for a hotel room? Also the accessories department did not respond very quickly after the sell either. So all in all, if you want the best price for a new vehicle, they are hard to beat, but, get everything in writing before you buy it, or they wont get back to you after the sell. More
