I have been shopping on the internet with 6 different car dealers that were recommended by USAA Car Buying Service. I had my doubts at the beginning. Craig Lattz made me a believer!!! We secured a deal on-line and made the 2 hour drive to Daytona to pick up the car. I was still expecting some hold-ups but was very pleased with the whole transaction process. Before the sale and during the sale everyone was friendly and I would have given all fives. However, on the way home to Deltona I ran out of gas (I had been told I would get a tank of gas as part of the deal and I would have given all fives. As I drove down I-4 I heard air leaking in around the passenger door. A few days later the passenger door started to make a noise of metal on metal when opening and closing and I noticed a sticker on the windshield where it had been replaced. This makes me think I have purchased a wrecked car. I e-mailed Monica with these concerns and she set up a service appointment and loner car. On the day of my appointment I had a medical emergency with a faamily member and called to reschedule the appointment. Monica was with customers so the receptionist canceled my appointment and said Monica would call me to reschedule. This is the fourth day and no call from Monica. I would recommend this dealer but not Monica. She drove off with the car keys while we were signing papers, rushed around in a dither selling more cars while her manager helped us select a vehicle and closed the deal. More

My friend and I made heavy use of the Internet for several weeks to research the Prius V model and then obtain price quotes for the exact trim level and options that we wanted. We checked dealerships several weeks to research the Prius V model and then obtain price quotes for the exact trim level and options that we wanted. We checked dealerships throughout Central Florida and even Miami. We were pleasantly surprised that in the end our hometown dealership, Daytona Toyota, offered the best price. Jonathan Ranney was very courteous and businesslike in answering our e-mails promptly, usually within 30 minutes. When we sent him what seemed to be lower quotes from other dealerships, he explained why his quote was superior because it included all elements of an "out-the-door" price, including tax, tag, and title, and extras like life-time oil changes. He didn't try to push the Toyoto-Guard charges on us or talk us into other options. He explained the model shortage to us, but said he expected he could obtain delivery of our preferred color within 2-3 weeks. The car actually arrived 5 days ahead of the target date. His explanation and demonstration of the hybrid power system and the intricate electronics on the dashboard was clear and easy to understand. He also let us take a test drive by ourselves. On the day we took delivery, he whisked us through the paperwork efficiently but gave us time to read the fine print. No pressure at all -- almost too good to be true. Our one minor quibble, not involving Jonathan at all, is our ongoing effort to arrange installation of a few accessories that we have selected since taking delivery. We had to make several phones calls to another dealership staffer to get details on prices and availability. It was a little disconcerting to be quoted a price on side molding the day of delivery and then the next day to be told the factory-built molding wouldn't be available for 6 months. The dealership lady offered a higher-priced aftermarket substitute, but we will take on chances on dings until the real McCoy comes in from Japan. For the other items, mud guards and rear bumper protector, we still don't have a firm appointment for the installation. Hopefully this will be cleared up in a day or so. More
