This is not the place to buy! I had been negotiating for a few days with a “sales manager” (and I use the term loosely) for a few days named John Carlin and also another master of deception named Manny. a few days with a “sales manager” (and I use the term loosely) for a few days named John Carlin and also another master of deception named Manny. Finally on the last day of the month 9/30/2020 we struck a deal on a 2020 Kia Sorento in white. I asked about an incentive that my original salesman named Mike had emailed me. John then told me he would ask and call me back in 5 minutes. Well 5 minutes turned into hours. I figured ok…last day of the month they are busy and would call me back the next day. That never happened. What happened was they sold the car out from under me to a “higher bidder”. This group of so called “professionals” didn’t even have the common courtesy to call me. It’s obvious money is first at this place and customers a VERY distant second! I called corporate in California who were useless. They would not even tell me who the regional manager was. To me that was a vote condoning this nonsense. When corporate didn’t help one iota I figured god forbid I have any issues with the car I’m screwed! After being a long time Kia customer having bought or leased 6 cars this soured me on the brand. I will no longer EVER buy another KIA product. This is 2020 and it just proves the shams, deceptions and lies are still going on and Deland Kia is in the forefront. P.S. I bought a beautiful 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan with only 115 miles…bye KIA! P.P.S My wife recently turned in her Sorento lease and bought the Dodge instead. When you return a lease there is a $400 fee if you don’t buy or lease. Two months later a letter came in the mail charging her a total of $2000! Nothing was wrong with the vehicle but they padded the lease return an additional $1600. Please don’t buy Kia from anyone! Ive purchased 2 new vehicles and 1 used vehicle from this dealership. The 2016 sorento i bought new from here has needed 3 door handles replaced. Each time on the same door. I went in to get it replaced for dealership. The 2016 sorento i bought new from here has needed 3 door handles replaced. Each time on the same door. I went in to get it replaced for the 4th time and they said they couldnt do anything for me since its out of the warranty period(Im 4k miles over). Its a good thing for me because I will be trading up my 2014 mazda 3 to the new 2020 k5 and now I know that they certainly only care about the sale and not the service afterwards. Shameful customer no service. I will be spending my money elsewhere. The sales staff was very accommodating. But after that youre on your own. Sorry Derrick Wright, but a $40 door handle just cost you a $30k sale! LoL! More

Took Advantage of an Old Man My 88 year-old grandfather came in to this location a few days ago to have his 4 year-old Kia serviced, and a salesman named John convinced him that h My 88 year-old grandfather came in to this location a few days ago to have his 4 year-old Kia serviced, and a salesman named John convinced him that he needed to buy a brand new car that he doesn't need, doesn't want, and can't pay for. They told him it would take 4-5 days to fix his car's problem (they never explained to him what it was, and never actually put the car on a lift to inspect his complaints), and that he would have to pay for a rental car to get home in the meantime, despite mentioning "shuttle service" and "loaner vehicles" on their website. There's a very good chance that there wasn't even anything wrong with his car, but that, if there was, it could have been covered under warranty. Instead, John convinced him he needed a brand new car with thousands of dollars in upgrades. He was there for several hours and said he was very tired, confused, and just wanted to go home. He told us he didn't know what he was signing and left the dealership without any paperwork for the vehicle he drove away in. It's pretty obvious in talking to my grandfather that he does get confused, and we believe the salesman, John, took advantage of this to get commission on a new vehicle. After this happened, my cousin called to speak to John, and was hung up on when he asked if we could cancel the contract. My uncle took the car back into the dealership to try to speak with him in person, and the sales manager said he "was not a doctor and couldn't be expected to know" that my grandfather wasn't in the right state of mind to make this purchase. When they inquired about his old car just days later, they said it was no longer at the dealership and they didn't know where it was so he couldn't get it back. The entire branch seems fully unconcerned that they just saddled this elderly man with a car payment he can't afford when he was merely looking for an assessment of a vehicular issue. My grandfather put 15,000 miles on a car over the course of four years. He did not need to upgrade to a new vehicle and anyone at a dealership should have known that. Let me remind everyone that this is the behavior being displayed by the DeLand Kia's employees during a global pandemic, after an elderly man brought his vehicle to them for help. This dealership and everyone who works in it should be ashamed of themselves. More
