First, we apologize for your experience. That being said, a few points. We would certainly have liked to communicate with you directly to attempt to assist you with your insurance company prior to 1 star review. It appears we properly diagnosed and repaired the vehicle with no repeat issues. The question of whether insurance can assist with covering the cost of this type of repair seems to be the primary issue. As the insured, you could have pressed your insurance company harder at the time of repair prior to payment. It is not customary for mechanical repairs to fall to the intermediary of the repair facility to push for authorization like it is in traditional accident damage at Body Shops. It is surprising that State Farm denied a claim simply based on semantics of a printed Repair Order… However, auto insurance carriers traditionally only cover body-damage resulting from physical accidents. However, it seems that part of the issue is the time that has passed since the repair was completed… So… if you would like our Service Manager and Service Director to attempt to work with your insurance company please let us know. I am responding privately at this time since your response indicates some willingness to be helpful. However, the implication that I did not try to contact the dealership before writing this review is very annoying. I went personally to speak to Mark last Friday after State Farm called me back. So I did make an attempt to work with your dealership. I also did not ask Mark to "push for" reimbursement. According to the claims agent, Mark emphatically denied the damage was caused by rodents, stating there was only evidence that rodents were present. And the implication that I should have pushed harder with my insurance company at the time is absolutely infuriating. Really? I had never heard of this happening to anyone before. Though I quickly learned online that insurance might pay for such damage, when I called my agent of 4 years on the day this happened, they said no. .I only started investigating the matter again because I was looking to change insurance companies. I agree that had State Farm done the right thing on March 1, this would not have happened. State Farm would have had the appropriate conversations with Delaware Subaru at that time and they would have asked for the correct documentation. And I would not have been at the mercy of Mark just not remembering what happened and insisting the story was entirely different, since he didn't note the rodent damage on the estimate. Now that Mark has told State Farm a flat out no, can the Service Director jog his memory so that I get my $1457 back from State Farm? I have no complaints about any service from Delaware Subaru and have been a loyal customer since moving to Delaware in 2020. As I mentioned in my review, I have spent nearly $9000 already on maintaining my car at your dealership, and would have likely purchased a new car from you in the next year or so, once the Solterra improves its EV performance. My State Farm agent is very apologetic and has a notation in my file that I called them on March 1, the day that I brought the car in for the repair, to ask about the rodent damage.
