My Experience with My 2016 Honda Accord Purchase My experience with the Delray Honda team was excellent. We started at the service dept. with our 2006 Honda Accord. She was totally professional and excellent. While our car was in service we test drove the 2016 Honda Accord. Our salesmen were Peter Madera and Mario Henriquez ... also excellent. We decided to buy a new 2016 Honda Accord and trade in the 2006 Honda Accord. Next up was getting the insurance changed to the new vehicle and a very personable and knowledgable young man helped us. Sorry I don't have his name. Then to finance where Jon Tetreault took care of us ...also excellent. Then back to Mario and Peter where they made sure our car was ready for delivery. They spent time with us on the workings of the car, especially the radio options. Thank you Delray Honda for taking great care of us and having a great staff. More

Not a very pleasant experience. I picked up a 2016 Accord Sport a few days ago. Let me start out with the fact that I am very pleased with the car and I’m glad I have it. With that s I picked up a 2016 Accord Sport a few days ago. Let me start out with the fact that I am very pleased with the car and I’m glad I have it. With that said, there were a couple of lessons I learned in the process. I had never leased a car before and decided that it was my best option this time around. I contacted 3 different dealers on-line. I checked out their internet pricing and chose the best deal to start with. I visited the Delray Honda and looked at the various colors in their Sport inventory. I obtained a printout of the pricing and what it would cost me OTD. I spoke with a salesman and told him I’d be in touch. I then contacted the other two dealers with the price I got from Dealer #1 and asked if they could beat the offered price. Dealer #2 responded that they would beat the price by $100. Shortly after that, Delray Honda called and asked if I was still interested in the Sport. I told him I was, but that Dealer #2 undercut Delray Honda’s price by $100. The salesman asked, “What if I can match the lower price?” I told him I’d still go to Dealer #2 since their first price was lower, whereas Delray obviously didn’t give me their best price since they were now lowering the costs. The salesman asked, “What if I can beat the lower price?” I told him that I would then buy from him. They lowered the price by another $100. At Delray Honda, I completed all the tiring paperwork and jumping through hoops. I was then sent to the Finance Manager to finish the deal. He typed and typed and I signed too many sheets of paper. The Finance Manager (Robinson) then went over the costs. He said that I would be paying $2200 in various charges up front. WHAT? I asked the Finance Manager to itemize these $2200 charges. The two largest were $795 for “dealer prep”. I told him to stop. I explained that “dealer prep” was supposed to be already included in the bottom line price I was given by the salesman. The finance manager began to double-talk about “that was with a sale, not the lease. Blah blah blah. I told him about Dealer #2’s offer and that INCLUDED “dealer prep” and the price that was beaten should have also included those charges. I told the finance manager to just stop the deal and that we were going to have to do it all over again. The finance manager said (and I quote), “Oh, well if they didn’t tell you about it, I’ll just take it off.” Just like that $800 gone. The next highest charge was $595 for the Honda Leasing. WHOA! How can they charge me to lease their car? The lease was supposed to be Zero-Down. If they charge me $595 to lease the car, then it’s not zero down. I told the Finance Manager to call the salesman and the sales manager to his office because this was a bunch of crap. The finance manager said (and I quote), “Oh, well if they didn’t tell you about it, I’ll just take it off.” Just like that, another $600 gone. Had I not said something, I would have been paying $1400 MORE for my car than I had agreed on. I believe these charges are just a fast track way to get more money. I wonder how many people just pay and never question these obviously ridiculous charges. I would have been willing to walk on the deal if the manager would have insisted on the charges. As simply as they were dropped just goes to show that they were bogus. The following morning, I found a small dent above the right rear wheel. The light had to hit it right in order to see the crease. When I returned the Accord to Delray, the salesman said he’d have to get “his boss” to check out the damages. The salesman returned with another man and the other man looked at the dent and said, “Perfectly at door height.” I looked at him wondering what he meant and he asked if I had taken the car to Publix. I told him the car had 42 miles on it and that it had only traveled from Delray Honda to my driveway and back to Delray Honda. He then said, “I wonder how the prep guys missed it.” I then told him how the prep guys missed an entire side of staining that required kerosene and how they nicked the pin stripping that had to be replaced. This “boss” was definitely trying to place the damage on my time and not when I received the car. I did not appreciate this inference or his attitude. I was given an appointment time to return the car for the repair. The salesman, Fred Ullman, was very gracious and polite. He made every effort to make my car buying experience as comfortable as possible, even offering to buy me lunch when the process lingered on far too long. I was pleased with the salesman and he ended up being the only shining light in this whole saga. I returned the car and the repair was made. I hope that will be my last visit to Delray Honda. According to various Honda forums, on line, my experience was not all that rare. If so, Honda needs to clean up the problems that buyers are experiencing. More

No waiting, no standing around to be assisted - we felt in good hands immediately. The entire process - from picking a car and going on a test drive to financing(John was great!) and all other paperwork, we never felt pressured but actually supported. Everybody we encountered in the process was awesome and did their best to help us - we really felt that they actually cared! Even my wife who absolutely hates car shopping had a great experience and had nothing but the best to say about Delray Beach Honda. We will be back, that is certain! More
