Initial salesperson (remember that phrase) worked well with us and we left feeling very satisfied. The next day was a holiday so we told them to not worry about financing on Tuesday and we'd be fine picking up the car on Wednesday. He told us he'd get the car in for detailing Monday. Monday night and "initial salesperson called and told us not to worry, he hadn't forgotten about us. Again, we liked this as we didn't expect to hear from him on a Holiday. Tuesday comes and goes and we hear nothing. No big deal, as we figured they'd be starting the process. Wednesday late morning I text the initial salesperson asking status and within `1 minute get a call from Finance. They are just starting the process (what happened to yesterday?). Sure enough within 30 minutes, I am getting e-mails showing the credit being pulled. Another 30 minutes later I get a call from Salesperson #2. Salesperson #1 is not available, and he'll be helping. He's not at work today, but is working the issue from home. 30 minutes later, a call from our insurance agent who wants to confirm we'd be picking up the car "tomorrow" (Thursday). This has not been discussed by anyone from the dealership. So I call Salesperson #2 and am not happy. I make it clear we close today or I am speaking to the Sales Manager to inform him the deal's off. SP #2 tells me he'll make it happen. in the meantime Finance has called my wife to confirm financing approved at the details they quoted on Day #1 and that it will be "Bank #1". 30 minutes later Insurance calls to confirm we are good to go for today, and that the lien will be held by "Bank #2". Again, we find this out not from the dealer but from our insurance company. We find out later that Salesperson #1 no longer works at the dealership. No details are given (and honestly none of our business). To sum up: 1. Incredible deal on the car. MSRP $32k. Purchase price $25.5k. 2. They had a person leave their employee and for a day it appears our deal fell into a black hole. 3. Incredible lack of communication between staff and customers. 4. In the end SP#2 did a nice job recovering. More
