We stopped by Dodd RV Yorktown one afternoon just to take a look at some floor plans. Our salesman, Scott Hudgins, walked us through a wide variety of trailers and spoke to us frankly about purchasing a used camper. He showed us how to look for problems in used trailers and then took the time to show us those problems in some trade-ins they had. Scott then just asked our price range and told us he would keep an eye out for us. There was never any sales pitch., My wife and I discussed the problems we might have trying to purchase a trailer from a FSBO. We decided it would be smarter buying from a dealer that could explain what to expect from any pre-owned we chose. Scott kept in touch with us and answered any questions we had with amazing promptness. We finally made our purchase and have just returned from a week long trip through South Carolina. Dodd RV set us up with the right camper and equipment to have a successful trip. I have nothing but accolades for Dodd RV and how we were treated. We highly recommend stopping in. RV dealers are NOT all the same After seeing the Grand Design BH2800 at the Richmond RV show, my wife and I decided to purchase this model. It was for sale at a different dealer in After seeing the Grand Design BH2800 at the Richmond RV show, my wife and I decided to purchase this model. It was for sale at a different dealer in Richmond, so I emailed for pricing. No email pricing, please call. At this point I started to research this dealer ( some not so glowing reviews), and I called. Got price for unit, plus delivery and dealer prep and documentation fee. This raised their price by over $2500. Now, not such a good deal. While I had shopped at Dodd RV before. (did not buy, found different model we liked better elsewhere),I wanted to buy local. Long story short, the staff at Dodd RV were friendly, courteous, and very helpful. It was a painless process. It was definitely worth a 90 minute drive. There was no " bait and switch " pricing, no surprises. If you are considering purchasing a New RV in the future, give these folks a try. You won't be disappointed. Avoid like the plague the larger dealerships like Camping World (aka the evil empire),, General RV also. Above all do your research. Read forums, read reviews of RV models and dealers, watch countless You-tube videos. Be an informed purchaser, not a victim. Once again, Grand Design RV's and Dodd RV are outstanding.
