Douglas Volkswagen and Duncan Bradley I recently purchased a 2015 VW GTI. I was interested in a 2 door car at a time when not many 2 doors were available. As a result, I visited many diffe I recently purchased a 2015 VW GTI. I was interested in a 2 door car at a time when not many 2 doors were available. As a result, I visited many different VW dealerships and spoke with many different sales people. By far the sales person I felt most comfortable with was Duncan Bradley at Douglas VW in Summit, NJ. In addition to being personable and very knowledgeable about the GTI, he was truly committed to helping me finalize the details of the my car. He then helped me find that car instead of trying to pressure me into buying one that was on the lot, like so many of the other dealerships I visited tried. A great example of his commitment involved helping finalize my color choice. I wanted to see a blue GTI. After looking at another dealer’s webpage to find a blue one, I called to confirm it was there and stopped by. On arrival I was told, “Well we have a blue one, but it is one the remote lot. The blue GTI is the same color as that blue Golf. It looks the same.” That was all the help I got. At Douglas VW, after looking at a blue GTI, I asked what the silver looked like. They had silver on their remote lot. Duncan drove me there, got access and I looked at silver in person rather than imagining what it might look like by viewing a different car. Once I finalized my choice, Duncan performed an exhaustive search. He could find no car matching my specs that was readily available. Instead of trying to get me to settle on something else, we ordered the exact car I wanted from the factory. He took a refundable deposit, ordered it and got a scheduled delivery date. He kept me posted regularly on its progress and it arrived exactly on the date promised. I got all the extended warranty information before final sale so I could review it and ask questions before hand, instead of being pressured at paperwork signing to take coverage I didn’t want. Delivery went swiftly and super smooth. I have had the car two weeks now and it is outstanding. And to top it all off, I got it for a VERY attractive price. Great help with a hot hatch It had been 15 years since we bought a new car so we did a lot of research. By the time we visited Douglas VW we had already been to four other dealer It had been 15 years since we bought a new car so we did a lot of research. By the time we visited Douglas VW we had already been to four other dealerships, so we thought we knew what to expect if not what car we wanted. We were pleasantly surprised to meet Duncan Bradley. He took the time to really understand what features we were looking for in a new car. He is a true enthusiast and knows cars and especially VW's. We wanted a small car with lots of cargo space for our bicycles and luggage. We wanted a manual transmission car that would be fun to drive and we wanted sophisticated features like a back-up camera, media player and a navigation system. We thought this would be a hard combination to find. We found all that and more in the 2015 Golf GTI Autobahn. On paper. It didn't really exist yet, at least not in New Jersey. Duncan worked hard, first searching for one at another dealer, eventually finding one on the assembly line at the factory in Mexico. Once we decided on a color he submitted the order. Just five weeks later the car was on the lot. When we returned to Douglas VW to pick it up, Duncan sat in the car with us and explained new (to us anyway) features like key-less entry, dual climate control and the driving mode selector. He also helped us set up the Bluetooth phone connection. He is courteous, professional and knowledgeable and as far from the stereotype of the pushy car salesman as it's possible to be. More
