I made an appoint in advance, they called me twice and texted me once the day prior to confirm that I would be there, with the last call being at 8pm. Yet, they basically wasted half of my day with this. They either knew that the car was gone and let me drive all the way across town anyways, which is dodgy AF, or they're rampantly inept. More
My tech was friendly and knowledgeable. Than on pickup, a different tech helped me, Rene. I had to ask him to explain to me what I was reading. I asked him were they able to figure out the problem and he said they wouldn’t provide a recommendation if they didn’t but then on the receipt it said they weren’t able to. Which is wild because why would I need to pay a $275 diagnostic fee if they weren’t able to determine what was wrong?! Anyways, the entire day I kept hearing how the battery I had installed by AAA was not at the high voltage required for my car. Based on Hyundai’s recommendation I was told to replace it and then tell AAA. Okay well AAA wants the receipt so I asked if they can add that to the receipt so they know why it needs to be switched out. The tech said “No”, that’s between me and AAA. Like hello? No it is not, now it is between AAA, me, and Hyundai because Hyundai is telling me the battery having a lower voltage is causing my car to turn off? He was so f’n rude, I almost lost it on him but decided to take a step outside. I hope I never have him as a tech. Quite honestly service at Hyundai Downey has always been the absolute worst. More
