I want to share my recent experience when I took my Santa Cruz to the dealer due to a popping noise I noticed about a week and a half earlier. When I arrived, a service lady asked if I had an appointment. I told her yes. She then asked what kind of service I needed, and I explained the issue with the popping sound. She said, “Give me a moment,” and went inside to speak with someone. After a bit, she came back out and said someone else would be out shortly to help me. At first, I thought she was the one handling my case, but apparently not. Another gentleman came out and asked what was going on, so I explained the issue again. I mentioned that the noise hadn’t happened again since the first time, but I still wanted it checked just in case it was something serious. He told me they probably wouldn’t be able to replicate the issue and that it might take 2 to 3 hours for them to inspect it. I agreed, saying it’s better to be safe than sorry — if the noise came back and turned out to be a major issue, I’d rather catch it early than wait until it gets worse. I waited for about 3 hours. Eventually, he told me the mechanic didn’t find anything. But during that entire time, I never saw my truck moved or brought over to the mechanic bay. It looked like it was parked on the opposite side of the building, where the new cars are kept. That made me feel like they didn’t actually inspect it thoroughly. In the end, they told me that if it happens again, I can bring it back and they’ll try to take another look. But honestly, that wasn’t the level of service I expected especially after scheduling an appointment and clearly explaining the issue. More
