I'm so furious with this dealer and not surprisingly I leased my new Jeep at another Chrysler dealer. - I can't deny that working with Jacob (sales guy) was an OK experience. He was lively, and like I leased my new Jeep at another Chrysler dealer. - I can't deny that working with Jacob (sales guy) was an OK experience. He was lively, and like any other salesman, accommodating. I arrived with my Uncle Thursday 3/27 in hopes of getting a competitive price on a lease for a 2014 Grand Cherokee Laredo to purchase that same day, or within 2-3 days (before the end of the month 3/31). - Jacob's first price was astronomical (we used True Car as a baseline). My Uncle let him know what the previous dealer quoted us, and Jacob went to his General Sales Manager, Wes, who surprisingly came back with a smaller number. We were very happy with the price but I needed some time to think about it. Jacob introduced me to Wes and he shook both my hand and my Uncle's. He said, verbatim, that the offer was good until the end of the month, 3/31. - In all honesty, we only left to call the other dealer to see if they'd match the price (as I wanted to give this other local dealer closer to home the sale) but they couldn't match it. We went back to Eastchester to work on the next step... my trade in. I wasn't surprised when they only offered $1,000 for it. I still wanted to think about it though and Jacob told me not to worry... to call him over the weekend to let him know for sure if I was going to get it to he could get a Laredo/VIN from another location. I called him twice that weekend. I spoke to him the first time on Saturday, asking him to send me the final numbers with the $1,000 trade in - he didn't get back to me. Left him a message Sunday... nothing. - I woke up Monday, 3/31, pretty set on not getting the Jeep from them, or that day for the matter. As my first lease, I couldn't imagine that this kind of customer service would start my relationship with them on the right foot. It just didn't feel right. - Like any other woman, especially one signing a lease for the first time, I consulted my other Uncle who called Jacob to try to get the numbers so I could go pick up the Jeep Monday. Jacob answered, laughed and said "oh, another Uncle, ok!" and said he'd talk to his sales manager so we could get number. Wes called back soon after. - Long story short, Wes sat on the phone and told me and my Uncle that they never promised me this lower lease payment. He said that we met "briefly" and that "I" had suggested the lower number but that they never agreed on it. The call escalated to a place it shouldn't have, but nonetheless, Wes was in the wrong. I have an Eastchester postcard, with Jacob's card stapled to it, with the numbers they promised me on the back written by Jacob. Wes' last offer was that if I wanted the car that day, my lease payment would have to be about $100 more than the number we agreed on. - Funny enough, I ended up getting my car Monday for a deal in between the low offer Eastchester promised and the higher number Wes gave me Monday, but for the ease and friendliness of the dealer I chose, I preferred to pay a little more. While it's a grand dealer, with a great looking service department, nothing justifies their General Sales Manager calling me a liar. Happy to scan and email the postcard with the pricing to anyone for proof of the above experience. More
