Very good buying experienceI contacted Eastside Subaru Very good buying experience I contacted Eastside Subaru in October 2020 by email about a possible purchase and received a return mail from Jacob Port Very good buying experience I contacted Eastside Subaru in October 2020 by email about a possible purchase and received a return mail from Jacob Porter. I later received a phone call from Jacob and was impressed by how personable and helpful he was. We had some communication back and forth with questions over the next few months. In November I let him know that I was expecting a substantial sum of money in February and wouldn't buy until then. I let him know that I'd call with any questions. He let me know he'd check back in February. Over the couple of months that past, I decided on a yellow Subaru Crosstrek Sport. I went to Eastside's website and did not see the car that I wanted in their inventory, so I searched other dealers and found the car about 40 miles from my home and negotiated a excellent price on TruCar. Local service was on my mind since I only like a couple of miles from Eastside, so I called Jacob on the off chance that I missed the car I wanted on their site. Jacob returned my call and let me know that they had the car I wanted on the lot. I told him the price that I had negotiated with the other dealer and he said he'd return my call to see if they could match it. It didn't take long and he called to say that the offer was accepted. My girlfriend went with me to look at the car. When we met Jacob he was not the typical auto sales guy. He's an avid fisherman and reminded me that we had talked about fishing often months earlier. He is very personable and I felt no pressure, he just answered questions and showed us around the lot. My girlfriend had a 2016 Crosstrek, but she was really impressed by the new ones. Again, Jacob answered all her questions (she's a little picky) and really loved a silver Crosstrek. I took Jacob aside and asked if I could purchase the silver one for her for the price we negotiated on mine. He said he was sure we could and I let him know if that was the case, I'd buy it for her. The rest is history, the purchases went very smoothly and we both drove home in new Subaru Crosstrek Sports, mine yellow and hers silver. Thanks Jacob!! More

I received a reply quickly and was told that Nick would meet when I arrived. True to this I arrived and NIck greeted me and went over a very easy review of the test drive ground rules. I took the vehicle out for a nice test drive and upon returning knew that this was a super nice vehicle. After some communication back and forth Nick and myself agreed to a price for a 2021 Subaru Outback. Upon returning after test driving other vehicles I met with Nick at his desk Social distancing measures were always adhered to. We went over the package involved in purchasing a new vehicle including warranties, etc. We agreed to a purchase price and I was told to wait in a very nice waiting area for a finance employee. This is where the day goes south. I had agreed to a down payment amount and a monthly payment with NIck. In the finance office the gentleman goes through a list of warranties I previously had declined and he informs he has to go through these again. When I decline all of them there are some bizarre comments asking me if I believed in warranties, etc. I said no and was told that these vehicles are expensive to repair and I am thinking really, I have yet to drive off the lot with a 2021 new vehicle? For the down payment I only had a debit card and was informed that this would not be taken, needed a check. My ride had left and I was there with only the debit card. Basically was told tough and needed a check. While I waited outside for my wife to get home to north Seattle, I informed her that she would have to return to Kirkland with a check. During this time I did think about cancelling the entire transaction. Nick approached me outside twice and asked if he could get me anything while I waited and said he was aware that I had to wait for my wife to return with a check. No problem as it was my fault that the down payment I had was not allowed. He asked how it went in finance. I informed him that the only reason I was still purchasing this vehicle was because of him. Long story short, the vehicle is awesome and luckily for me my salesperson was knowledgeable, professional and worked with us to get this vehicle. More
