Tricia, First, I am sorry you drove so far to see the vehicle and it was not ready for sale. I would like to represent the situation correctly for the review readers. I apologize for asking who you were and that you interpreted it as rude. I received your call on my personal cell phone number (which is fine), but when the first thing someone says is "Who is this" I immediately assume it's a telemarketer and/or someone trying to sell me something. I would have gladly told you my name when asked if the call had come through my work line. To your other concern, which is the vehicle: this vehicle was recently traded for with body damage which you described accurately. We have an appointment to bring it to our collision center for repair. However, that appointment is scheduled for Feb 28th (5 days after you visited our store). The manager was driving this vehicle because we had no intention of selling it until it was fully reconditioned. We did not disclose damage because we do not sell vehicles with damage, which included this vehicle. All vehicles go through a strict recon process, in this case unfortunately, you acted faster than we could getting it ready. I apologize for the troubles. Eric Sarjeant, GM Ed Martin Toyota

Thank you for your response Mr. Sarjeant. I do understand if the dealership transferred me to your personal cell number why you would have assumed it could have been a solicitor. Once I explained who I was and why I was calling your demeanor did not change to become any more professional than when you first answered my call. Also, please note that as of 30 seconds ago this vehicle STILL shows on your website FOR SALE with absolutely NO visible damage to the passenger side which is the most damaged! This deal was worked on all day yesterday with every intention represented by the sales woman to sell me this vehicle. She advised she was unaware that there was an issue until the manager returned the vehicle to the lot for me to test drive. At the end of the day I understand that this may just all be a lot of miscommunication but please do continue to represent a vehicle being for sale on your website when it is not and wasting someone else’s time.

Tricia, I did not know you were transferred to my cell phone. I admitted I was gruff and apologized in all the negative reviews you have posted online so-far. All I saw was a long-distance number with someone asking me "who I was". When you told me, I identified myself to you as Eric Sarjeant and you asked me what my title was, which I replied as the general manager. At that point, you explained your concern. I explained that the vehicles was not involved in a collision by my manager as you had thought. Also, that we would have the vehicle repaired as timely as possible. Our website inventory feed pulls the data the moment we buy/trade for a vehicle, That is an automated process that has happened and will remain in place, despite a one-off situation like this that has damage. This vehicle will remain for sale to anyone who may be looking for one like it. Just because you can't take the vehicle in it's current condition, doesn't mean someone can't still commit to purchasing it after it's repaired. After you hung up on me, I called you directly back to explain all this but you did not answer. I am happy to speak to you about this vs responding on Yelp, Google and Dealer Rater.

Thank you for that explanation as to why it is still listed. I simply feel it was misrepresented as the pics of the vehicle did not show any damage. Our conversation was not headed towards a productive resolution so yes I ended the call. I did not receive another call after ours ended but I’m sure that was for the best.
