Good car bad service I was looking for a Certified Pre Owned WRX. Unfortunately supply is very limitted because I was only interested in the wagon body style. Three weeks I was looking for a Certified Pre Owned WRX. Unfortunately supply is very limitted because I was only interested in the wagon body style. Three weeks prior we bought a new Forester for my wife at Shingle Springs Subaru, the salesman Tom was excellent; honest, nice, upfront and straight to the point. Since Shingle Springs didnt have the car I wanted, I traveled to all nearby locations, from Fresno to Redding, Reno to the bay. I found the car closest to what I was looking for and it was at Elk Grove. I contacted them via cpo.subaru.com and received a call back from a salesman named Rod. I initially thought things were good. But as the deal progressed I realized he knew nothing about Subarus, or at least not the WRX, and he lies right to my face time and time again. First, the satelite radio antenae, he said he was a gps system to prevent people from stealing it and it would be taken out upon purchase. Later the GM said he had no idea what he was talking about. During negotiations he said the car had a new hood put on so they were deep into the car and couldnt go down. I responded with, then why is the hood dented and have rock chips on it, at that point he went into a 10 minute confusing explaination which was all lies. He said he had a faught and kept referring to her as "it", leading me to beleive that too was a lie. I got the car I wanted, the GM seemed to be a good guy, no bs just to the point. But to have a salesman like that representing the company shows how they lack self respect. More

My salesperson was Michelle, and since I had ever done a lease before I had many questions. I live about 2 hours away from the dealership and so I wanted all my questions answered before I drove there. Michelle was extremely helpful and professional and answered all my questions. After many phone calls, I felt like a pest, but was never treated that way, I drove to Elk Grove and was able to get the deal done in a short amount of time. Michelle was great, very patient with me, concerned that she covered all questions regarding my new vehicle and just make my experience a very easy one. I would recommend Elk Grove Subaru and particularly Michelle Phan. More

Fred was professional, curteous, and patient. The finance manager got a lower rate than anticipated. I left with a great car, and a great warranty. So after some research we went to Elk Grove Subaru with a specific new Outback in mind. Alan walked us through what was available and in the end we decided to order a car. We weren't in a hurry and Alan helped us order exactly what we wanted. Turned out our car arrived weeks earlier than originally estimated. It was perfect. Everyone at the dealership were friendly and helpful. Alan and Mike made the pick up process smooth. We're keeping our 2001 Outback as a 2nd car and looking forward to getting badges for both. More

Solid and straightforward So it turns out that dealing with a car dealership doesn't have to be painful. When they even offer to deliver your old car back to your home (over 150 mile round trip that they had to pay two drivers for) so that you don't have to come back another day with a friend to solve the logistics problem, well that's just above and beyond. So it seems to me there are two strategies for a car dealership to maximize profits. One is to squeeze every single customer who comes in the door for everything they're worth. We've all been in those places, and everyone hates it. Or you can treat people with respect, you can be honest describing the cost vs. benefits of various options (financing, warranty, etc.), and you can do what you can to make it work for the customer, so that in today's massively connected world, you can thrive on reputation. It's a win-win. Elk Grove is doing the win-win strategy. It seems to be working. Let that be a lesson to all those "other" places.
