Deceptive car prices advertised Empire understates car prices on web. The advertised price assumes you will be trading in a car valued at $2500 and is reduced by this amount. The d Empire understates car prices on web. The advertised price assumes you will be trading in a car valued at $2500 and is reduced by this amount. The disclaimer is well buried in the fine print at the bottom of the dealer page. However, the assumption does not get passed to the data aggregators that provide data to all other sites and tools. For instance, If you are researching cars on one of many apps for your phone, that tool relies on the data from the data aggregators, and it is INACCURATE!!! This is a willful misrepresentation of data, admitted by the salesperson, confirmed by the sales manager, and dismissed by both as "everyone does it". I visited numerous dealers in the past 3 years, relying on prices from various web sites and tools this is the first instance where the advertised price was not honored. It does raise the question, if Empire is not honest about acquiring the customer, can they be honest about keeping the customer? I guess I will never know, I walked out... More
