Manners and professionalism make a difference. My wife and I purchased a 2014 Ford Escape, AWD. The price of the car, tax and an extended warranty totaled around $24,000. We finalized the deal on a Saturday afternoon in early September, 2015. The dealership didn't appear to be super busy. Yet, were we worth 10 seconds of Jay Ewald's time to just come over to us and say thank you? No we were not. He walked right by us several times but evidently, my purchase was not worth his effort of saying thank you. I didn't expect royal service but a simple personal 'thank you' from Jay Ewald would have made the difference to me recommending Ewald or returning as a customer. I don't recommend Ewald as there are many Ford dealers in the area. Some of my phone calls weren't returned and I didn't appreciate the bluster that another manager Brian, gave me over an ealier offer I had made. My wife really liked the Escape and we really needed a vehicle at that moment. I should have waited and gone somewhere else but didn't. I won't make that mistake again. Years ago, my wife and I were going to buy a far cheaper used vehicle from Ernie Von Schledorn. At least Ernie had the manners to shake our hands and thank us for shopping at his venue even though we didn't buy a thing. I can't remember what we were going to buy from Ernie but I sure remember his graciousness. More

One Man Made a Difference Our experience was changed by by one person, Joseph. We inquired about 2 used vehicles through the dealership's instant messenger on their website. Af Our experience was changed by by one person, Joseph. We inquired about 2 used vehicles through the dealership's instant messenger on their website. After "verifying" the person on IM notified us that both cars were there and available, so we drove an hour to see them. After being in the showroom for 5 to 10 minutes and not being noticed by various employees who were chatting amongst themselves, Joseph, a salesman, asked if we'd been helped yet. Joseph already had customers at his desk. After some searching, Joseph helped us learn that neither car was there!! One had left the night before and the other car a manager had taken about 5 hours earlier to another Ewald dealership! When Joseph called the next afternoon to let us know that the car the manager took had just returned 10 minutes prior, well, we we not too excited to drive yet another hour "hoping" that the car would be there. Joseph made a difference. He showed that he actually cared about people and not just a sale. We did return, test drove the car, made a tentative deal because the car needed some additional work. In the end we did buy the car at a fair price having a good experience, mostly due one person who cared. If you go to Ewald Ford in Hartford WI, my wife and I recommend you ask for Joseph. More
