My experience at this dealer wasn't very good at all. I had questions about warranty items and was looked at like i was a bad person. They also didn't fix the issue i noticed during test drive and 200 m I had questions about warranty items and was looked at like i was a bad person. They also didn't fix the issue i noticed during test drive and 200 miles after delivery I am now having to deal with other major and serious problems with this car at another dealer because these people couldn't duplicate my issues when a service tech at another dealer found the issues in a 5 min test drive. USED CAR BUYERS BEWARE - STEERING FALIURE ON 2009 VECHICLE even after a safety check carried out by dealers technicians with paper work for proof. It pains me to say this after an initial good exp VECHICLE even after a safety check carried out by dealers technicians with paper work for proof. It pains me to say this after an initial good experience but after searching for a used nissan altima coupe for 4 months we went with Exec Kia Wallingford mainly because of their great sales team and approach. All previous vehicles we viewed (IN OTHER DEALERSHIPS, NOT EXEC KIA) we turned down, not because of the vehicle but because of the staff in the business, even hanging up on rude sales staff when trying to arrange a viewing or getting more info on the vehicle. Until i spoke to somebody in Executive Kia. I liked his professionalism and his polite manner that I even went down to see a vehicle knowing the drivers seat had been removed for work. When we got there we met a sales person (whom I dont want to name as I feel its not fair on him but dealerrater requires me to tag an employee), he was a very decent chap, polite, patient, all the things you'd want a sales persons approach to be. Researched Exec Kia and was happy to learn they were acredited by the BBB which was great and very rare out here in the USA. We were given all sorts of paper work detailing the security points checked on every used vehicle including ours. We went over the vehicle and took it for a test drive. Filled with confidence we decided to purchase the vehicle, we spent $14,000 on a 2009 nissan altima coupe. Initially we had a very good experience, everybody was professional, polite and patient. We had a 60 days or 3000 mile warranty and away we drove. Three months later, outside of warranty my girlfriend, who is a nanny by profession was driving home and THE STEERING COMPLETELY FAILED. It still keeps me up at night thinking of all the different outcomes of her fate had she still been on the highway on her daily commute to and from work when this failure occured, or even had the 2 babies she takes care of in the vehicle with her. Thankfully she was traveling at a slow rate of speed and she wasnt on a major road, which is the only positive we can take from this situation. Car is currently at Exec Kia after being towed to their shop. Was told by a technician hes never seen this before but a major clamp and bolt were missing from the power steering resulting in steering failure where the vehcile now needs a whole new power steering rack and possibly power steering pump. When my girlfriend queried why this wasnt spotted during the safety inspection she was told it was impossible to see, and something about they just shake the steering rack to check (really?), and she would have to pay $780 to have it fixed, they are saying its basically not thier fault they missed this. I understand we are out of the warranty but a steering failure so recently after a safety inspection by people titled 'technicians' is really not good enough, this could potentially be an issue involving fatalities. So I also spoke to said technician and from his description I really wanted to believe him and his explaination as everybody in their organisation came across honest and genuine. They are normally covered very well from all angles and this time was no different as they told us that this would normally cost $1150 but they want to help us so they will pull as many strings as they can to get it down to $780, so now my girlfriend contacted a different main dealer and guess what price they quoted us? yes they quoted $780 as a stright up all in. So now all that faith and trusting these people has now diminished, i am now inclined to believe they made a mistake by over looking or not even carrying out a correct safety inspection endagering our lives and others on the road in a potential death trap. It truely is a shame on so many different levels, we felt we had built a good relationship with this organisation and we were full with confidence these are they people to do business with, never once doubting our saftey while driving this vehicle. Im sure buying brand new isnt an issue as you are covered with longer warranties by a BBB acredited company in Exec Kia, and if buying used you could always get an extended warranty but what good is that warranty when the car is in a ditch on the highway with major injuries or worse? We are now going to get the car towed to the garage who quoted us the same price as we no longer want to give this organisation any more of our money. More
