Health challenges, unexpected job losses, and financial hardships affected my credit and made what should have been a simple purchase feel almost impossible. My credit score reflected some of the hardest chapters of my life, but it never reflected my character, my determination, or my willingness to rebuild. Despite everything, I never stopped trying. I worked hard to pay down my previous auto loan until I owed only $233, traded in my faithful “Old Betsy” for $500, and prayed that somehow the right opportunity would come along.
