2nd Time - TOO LATE AGAIN - Male Focused Sales Team 11 Years ago I shopped at First Team Toyota Dealership in Chesapeake, they were so interested in talking to my husband, that they lost the sale. Not 11 Years ago I shopped at First Team Toyota Dealership in Chesapeake, they were so interested in talking to my husband, that they lost the sale. Not realizing that in todays society many women earn a great deal more than the man and have more buying power and better credit scores, their team got caught up in their typical sales tactics, that they didn't realize who had the bankroll. That same day, 11 years ago I went to a dealership in Hampton and purchased the same Avalon that I test drove in Chesapeake from a new salesman that was new to the area and was not yet tainted by the male centric attitudes in Chesapeake. Due to 95K+ income and 800+ credit score, and 10% net to debt ratio, and my keen ability to research and determine used car value, it was the easiest sale he ever made. As usual the Chesapeake salesman back then blew my home and cell phone up like crazy the following week, but was too late. History Repeats Itself: I decided to give First Team Toyota Chesapeake another shot as I'm purchasing a car for my daughter, same thing, Mike V. was polite, but focused on my husband even put my husbands contact info in the system as if he would be contacted for the purchase. When the sales Manager wouldn't even consider a negotiated price on the car with 44K miles on it and a rear bumper that was beat up, but immediately got chummy with my husband as if he were buying the car. I politely got up and will purchase the same vehicle in Hampton "AGAIN" I win either way, Salesmen/Sales Managers of First Team Toyota Chesapeake , Don't bother calling the Boones next week, you will be Too LATE AGAIN. More

Bought a 2015 Toyota 4Runner SR5 I bought the 4Runner from them while I was transitioning from overseas. They met my specific requests (i.e., color, type, model, etc.) with no hassle I bought the 4Runner from them while I was transitioning from overseas. They met my specific requests (i.e., color, type, model, etc.) with no hassle and at no time did they attempt to sway my decision, but instead insisted they would find the exact match...They did! They begged and pleaded for us to sign a contract on a truck that wasn't even there yet. When the truck finally did arrive, they wanted us to put a deposit on the truck to "hold" it. We were told that the check would not be deposited. We found a better deal and bought a truck elsewhere (you go, Charlie!!). Needless to say ,the dealership was mad and deposited the check anyway. I am glad I did not trust my years of Toyota ownership to these lying people. More
Disappointed I entered this dealership with the intention of buying a used Ford F-150. The dealer was very nice but was supposed to follow up with me on a Ford F-1 I entered this dealership with the intention of buying a used Ford F-150. The dealer was very nice but was supposed to follow up with me on a Ford F-150 Lariat that just came in. After shopping around my husband and I were pretty much sold on the one on their lot. I finally had to follow up with them because I never heard back and in the process of texting the guy that we were dealing with I caught him in a lie. As of right now he has still left me hanging. This would have been an easy sell for them because we already had our minds made up but at the end of the day, we feel that they don't want our business. We have continued our search and decided to rule out anything from First Team. More
Chris was great! He made this stressful car-buying experience a delight. He was busy with other customers when I arrived on the lot, but that did not prevent him from greeting me and finding out what experience a delight. I felt he made each customer he was working with feel significant and special. Not to mention it was less than forty-five minutes before closing time when I arrived, never once did he rush me or appear to be impatient or frustrated with my indecisiveness. I was not satisfied with the first couple of vehicles I test drove, and Chris encouraged me to continue to shop beyond dealership hours. I, indeed, found the car for me and am completely satisfied with my like-new 2011 Camry with very low mileage might I add. I'd visited several other dealerships before arriving to First Team Toyota that will remain nameless. The only reason I did not purchase from one of those dealerships was due to poor customer service. Chris Demaar knows customer service. Being a REALTOR and knowing much about customer service myself, I absolutely appreciated the service he provided to me and that I witnessed him provide to others, his product knowledge and tasteful sense of humor. I would gladly refer him to family, friends and strangers. Thanks, Chris. Keep up the good work! More
Great experience. Bartley was the salesman that I dealt with during my visit. He was very easy going and personable. He was all around GREAT to work with.
