I have been buying new cars for 50 years now and always research before I start visiting dealerships. When I buy for myself I try to do everything through email and then close the deal with who ever gives the best price but when I'm helping someone out like a family member I know they need to see and feel the car out so I check on line sites like Dealerrater and Edmunds for dealerships that are highly reviewed and names of sales people who are highly rated by customers. I saw many very good reviews on Matthew Carlin with all the right qualities I want to see in a sales person. I called Matt and had a chat to discuss what I wanted and what his inventory was and set up an appointment to discuss a deal along with my sister. Car buying can be really a stressful experience as everyone knows especially for woman who feel lost going to dealership not knowing what to expect. I found that Matt is a guy who really enjoys his job and has a genuine respect for people. This guy really wants to help you find the right car, not just to make a sale and say good luck with it. He spends allot of time explaining in detail about all the features of the car and let us take the car for a test drive by ourselves for as long as we wanted. that's not the norm in this business as salesman know the short comings of every model and they will try to hide them during a test drive like not taking you on a highway if the model lacks power or other weaknesses. We never felt rushed and he insisted on going over the whole car as well as explaining the whole sale process that Freehold uses. I have to say that Freehold Hyundai is well organized in their sales process and don't keep you waiting for hours on end. Matt never left us during the whole sales process as allot of sale people will at times to make you feel more stressed out. We negotiated a price in a civil manner that was very close to the price I had researched through emails to other dealers and then Matt explained that the car would be detailed and inspected while we took care of transferring the insurance which took less than a few minutes. We met with the finance person Audriena DePalma next. Finance people can be extremely pushy allot of the time trying to sell you all kinds of extra addons but Audriena went over all the offerings that were available in detail with no pressure at all. She then went over every sheet of paperwork with us before my sister signed and answered all the questions we had. No pressure and no surprises. We were out of finance in less than 15 minutes. The car was delivered without any problems and a product specialist went over every feature of the car and set up my sisters IPHONE and radio settings and my sister went home a happy camper which makes me happy also. I would gladly recommend Matt and Freehold Hyundai if you are looking for a Hyundai product. Thank you Matt and Audriena!! More

Perfect experience. GO HERE if your looking at any Hyundai!! After a couple weeks of dealing with other Hyundai dealers who had given me the run around i almost thought there no was hope with their dealerships. After a couple weeks of dealing with other Hyundai dealers who had given me the run around i almost thought there no was hope with their dealerships. I was told that a specific model trim i wanted i couldnt get because "there were None of that trim (Veloster N "Performance Package") available in the area for him to get me". This was told to me without him even lifting a finger to check his local dealer inventories for me!!(turns out i get home and search for the car and find 8 within a 35mi radius!). So much for "there's none around in that trim". Also i couldnt get a quote from some dealers until i "came in" and was "ready to buy". What? Who does this? On top of me telling you im paying CASH you would think they would throw me a number to get the ball rolling, but no. Another dealership/salesman i was dealing with for an entire week, bc in the middle of our calls he had "a family emergency" and would not be able to get me a quoted price until a couple days. He however promised "ill beat ANY dealer price and then some", bc the owners are his "family" and "for my patience". Welp, i should have known better because that was a big joke. He wound up quoting me a price that literally was msrp, i then told him i already had a quoted priced that was much lower(which he was aware of) and he "promised to beat that price and then some". He proceeded to tell me that the other dealer with the lower quote was "hiding fees and once i came in they would pile them on". Turned out this couldnt be further from the truth because that Dealership was Hyundai of Freehold and they did not add ANY fees, lol. Now to Freehold Hyundai... My mother had stopped in on her way home one day unbeknownst to me, because she knew of the troubles i was experiencing with the other dealers. She had met and explained to salesman Kurt that her son was looking for a quote on a specific model and trim. She said they(Manager came over as well) were very nice and told her that it would not be a problem to get a quote for the best Cash price on said vehicle. Once she made me aware of what she did, and i checked their quoted price i almost couldn't believe it. First, i Finally got a price, and second it was exactly in the area i had figured i would pay. Which honestly i was not expecting them to do and start so low. However they just knew what they were doing, no bs just get down to it and offer the best price you can OTD, and this is what they did. I took there offer and the entire experience was laid back and easy. Their interior setup is a bit different than other dealerships, in a good way....very cool. Same goes for their service center which was designed really cool as well how they drop off and take your cares. Bottom line Kurt my salesman was great as well as the Manager(i forgot his name!sorry), they both were understanding and it was pleasure dealing with. Honestly if you live in the Tri-State area and are looking at Hyundai's just do yourself a BIG FAVOR and go straight to Hyundai of Freehold. Even if you may have to travel a little more than your willing i truly think it would be worth it. My experience was straightforward easy and approachable, which is what i was looking for. I knew the car i wanted and just wanted a price i had configured was fair for purchase, they hit the bullseye on this. Which is something alot of dealerships failed to achieve. Great Dealership i really cant say it enough and by looking at these reviews its obvious!!! More
