Never had much luck with them in the 80's. Wanted to order a new 4x4 truck in 88. They wanted $14,000 WITH ZERO OPTIONS. Got a truck in Sylacauga, Alabama WITH OPTIONS for around $12,800. Tried a mustan order a new 4x4 truck in 88. They wanted $14,000 WITH ZERO OPTIONS. Got a truck in Sylacauga, Alabama WITH OPTIONS for around $12,800. Tried a mustang purchase there another time.WANTED LIST PRICE PLUS TAX. Told me and this was the salesman's words, "We can get list price from the local military dudes." I got one at Hub City not at list price, premium package, shadow gray GT. NOW...Years later I give GSF another shot A FEW WEEKS AGO. A+ for trying to get me financed at a bad time. Not a credit issue, budget issues. Wanted the 2001 Ford 4x4. Was told by salesperson that they don't hold cars for anyone. Better buy ASAP. Okay...the Ford 4x4 I wanted was held for someone else for days without a "hold sign" hanging on the mirror. Wouldn't sell it to me. They apparently do hold cars for SOMEBODY. So I ended up just paying cash for a Colorado 4x4. The morning before I picked it up I emailed them that a tire was low. PLEASE attend to that before I buy it. Made the assumption that they did. Stupid on me for that, lol. Out in the "ice storm" I pulled a huge nail out and plugged the tire MYSELF. (Fortunately I keep a plug kit, a little air pump, AND A FREAKING ARCTIC PARKA in my truck). Okay...I could sugar coat all this and lie and be totally sweet but I've been truthful. But, and it's a big BUT. I did see much improvement over the past GSF I've experienced. No arrogance or thumbing of the nose like from the past because they knew they could sell some airman a car at a high price and didn't need my business. Shannon Pangburn is a gem, Mark Gudinez, and Tanner (I hope I've got your name right Tanner, can't find your card) were all very nice and wonderful to work with and really tried to help. Kind of glad now that the financing didn't work out. Nice to have that clear title. Also thanks to John Crane for extreme effort with the finance issue... So, I apologize if I was too truthful. But I really liked the improved attitude and kindness I experienced there. I have a new 2013 Nissan I bought in June in P'cola so not in the market for a new car now. But in the future, YES, I would consider GSF an option for another car. And I would recommend GSF to others now. More
I am a lifelong resident of Fort Walton Beach, born and raised. Over the years I have owned several Ford F150s, a Ford Ranger and a couple of Mazdaspeed3s. Unfortunately, I have never been successful purch raised. Over the years I have owned several Ford F150s, a Ford Ranger and a couple of Mazdaspeed3s. Unfortunately, I have never been successful purchasing a vehicle from Gary Smith Ford until April 30 2013. I saw a 2013 Ford Focus (black with manual tranny) online and went by to test drive it. I met up with Mr. Jim Kempton, who right off the bat seemed Iike a low pressure regular guy. Found out later he was ex military. Jim took me out in the Focus. It was then that I realized it was an ST!!! I had no idea what a Ford Focus ST was and was sort of intimidated by the options and potential sticker. I enjoyed the car and told Jim it was too much car for me but I would be interested to see what kind of deal they could make. I did not have a trade so I knew the deal should be easy, but I have had my share of dealership experiences over the years to know to expect the unexpected. Jim knew all I wanted was a black manual Focus, but informed me the Focus ST is part of the Ford World Team (formerly SVT) and that it was low production and that means no incentives, no rebates, and sticker is the price. He said he was going to see what kind of deal he could get me. Before he left me and headed to the tower, I essentially said, "Jim before you go, I just want to tell you that if you give XYZZY price, you have the deal." He looked at me with very little confidence and said he thinks it will not happen. Literally 5 minutes later, he comes back and says, "congrats you just bought a Focus ST!!" And it had the ST3 package!! Fully loaded!! I got the car nearly at dealer invoice plus dealer fee!! I was floored with the experience. He then gave me a full tutorial on the myfordtouch and the Microsoft synch and had the car detailed. I was there for maybe 90 minutes total!! Incredible experience. If you are going to buy a Ford at Gary Smith in FWB, if you don't deal with Jim Kempton, you are messing up. He is a top notch, low pressure, regular guy that has a calm demeanor and will sell you a car and you will be happy. Thank you Jim!! I love my new Focus ST!! More

The sales consultant "The Greek" is a pleasure to deal with & makes the transaction pain free. I also use their service Dept to maintain my vechicle and want to mention Andy as the leader of this fine Department. I will keep doing business with Gary Smith as long as they continue to maintain these standards of excellence!!!! More
My wife and I have been looking for a new car and I did alot of research online. After looking at all that we wanted and deciding between the Explorer or the Pathfinder, we choose the Explorer. It has t alot of research online. After looking at all that we wanted and deciding between the Explorer or the Pathfinder, we choose the Explorer. It has the space we wanted and the tech stuff for me. Gary Smith Ford and more especially, Steve Alford gave me the best car buying experience that I ever had. Steve was not pushy at all like other car sales people that I dealt with in the past and everybody else worked really easy with us to make sure we got the best deal. Steve explained everything about the car as well. I give Steve 5 stars. Also, the finance guy (can't remember the name) was very easy going and explained everything that I was signing very well too. Very satisfied customer and may come back in the future for another car. More
I needed a new car because I will be traveling between college, work, and home soon. My current Ford Ranger was a 1996 model and only managed about 18 miles per gallon. As we searched Crestview and Fort W college, work, and home soon. My current Ford Ranger was a 1996 model and only managed about 18 miles per gallon. As we searched Crestview and Fort Walton for a good deal on a car, none of the salesmen ever asked our price range. The salesmen simply went inside and came back with an estimate based on the price tag on the car. They did not want to go down on their prices. When we went to Gary Smith Ford, Steve greeted us and asked what kind of car we were looking for. He recommended the Ford Fiesta for the gas mileage. The price was roughly 18000 and he asked us what our range was. We said around 16000 and he recommended a 2012 new Ford Focus which the price tag was 17000 on. We asked if he could bring it down to 16000 and he actually went to his manager and asked. The manager said he could do 16500 and we bought it. Thats 500 dollars more for me to spend on gas instead of the car itself. The car drives great and everything functions the way it is meant to. More
