Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

They wouldn’t sell the truck for the online advertised price because it was still in transit. Why advertise a discounted price when you can’t buy the truck for that until it hits the lot? Pretty scummy move when you combine that with the line that you can either lock up the truck for $3k over advertised price or risk someone else buying the truck once it hits the lot. I was told when the truck was delivered it would be put at the front of the line to get detailed and whatever the setup/inspection process is. When I got to the dealership 2 hrs later nobody had touched it. I had to wait over 5 hours for them to get the truck ready. Once the truck was sold (I waited and hounded the salesman until it hit the lot) they owed me dealer installed black bowties on front and back. Those took over 45 days to get. This may be a high volume dealership but it’s not because of service. These guys are your run-of-the-mill outfit. Over promise and under deliver. More

Everything went well other than the vehicle was not cleaned very well . Inside stains on seats could of been cleaned and tire pressures were not checked as tires all had different low pressure readings cleaned very well . Excellent and timely work and transparent on my warranty. One downside, the dealership told me they'd suggest a coolant and transmission fluid change, but waited until I picked up the vehicle. If they had told me while they had it, I would have let them do it there and then. Now, for my own convenience, my regular mechanic, who is within walking distance to my home, will get that work.
