professional and friendly service I recently purchased my second Tundra. After getting the exact deal I wanted on my first I decided to stop in and see Mario the sales manager regard I recently purchased my second Tundra. After getting the exact deal I wanted on my first I decided to stop in and see Mario the sales manager regarding my options on another. Within 15 minutes we were shaking hands on the deal and I was yet again one happy customer! He and one of his team members, Brian Vazquez, did everything they possibly could for the second time in a row to make sure I was leaving with exactly what I needed. My experience at Gateway was amazingly pleasant. We were contemplating a used vehicle with low mileage and within our budget. I had visited Gateway Toyota in the past. It seemed I always encountered high pressure and sometimes obnoxious salesman. But to my surprise this time I met Michael Sweeny who was just the opposite. He allowed us to examine a number of cars. And when any appealed, he would give us keys for a test drive. We drove the vehicles around so we could get a good feel of handling, cabin noise and suspension. We had been looking around but felt conformable that Michael was not out to take us to the cleaners. We settled on the car we liked most and were surprised again that finance manager had the same demeanor and caring attitude as Michael. That said, two thumbs up for the new atmosphere and attitudes at Gateway. We recommend them. Just one minor concern. It took about an hour or so for us to settle on the car, but almost three hours before we left that night. What’s a few hunger pangs for a very good deal. Pam & Gene More

Personal, Professional, Uncomparable This was my first time buying a car from a dealership so I had NO IDEA what to expect. I brought my parents along for support, and decided to take the This was my first time buying a car from a dealership so I had NO IDEA what to expect. I brought my parents along for support, and decided to take the plunge to check this out on memorial day weekend (not ideal timing but so glad we did). Fred approached us outside and I was immediately thankful this was the gentleman who found us, he was calm, cool and casual. I did not feel forced to make the purchase, there was no hard selling no pushing anything on us, just a man who genuinely knew his product, his pricing and was confident we were trying out the best car based on my needs. I had a car to trade in, and walked into the dealership understanding two things....my old baby was a hot mess and car dealerships are a business, they are not giving you KBB pricing on a trade-in, it isnt personal. So we then got to work with Anthony who got me the best possible value for my used car (and maybe a dollar or two more because of my emotional fondness for Goldie). TJ made the process of the loan and paperwork super easy and even shared some really valuable information about how to work on my pretty dismal credit score, without patronizing me...yeah its possible. Even since I have been cruising in my new Toyota Yaris, these guys are STILL taking care of me, they helped me get a replacement title to my old car, grabbed a meaningful memento out of my old car that I had forgotten in my excitement and are willing to take my schedule and life into consideration when dealing with the picking up of my plates, and dropping off of that title. Not all sales man are the same, not all used sales lots are the same and not all dealerships treat you like a Cha-ching. Unethical Dealership and Internet Manager! This is not how you do business and would never do business with this unprofessional dealership. More
Best car buying experience EVER! Wow! I had an incredible experience at gateway Toyota in toms river. I was really dreading having to buy a car, but the staff was GREAT and I got a Wow! I had an incredible experience at gateway Toyota in toms river. I was really dreading having to buy a car, but the staff was GREAT and I got a better deal than I could have imagined. Maryann Lordi was so kind and welcoming (she even gave me a great keychain!) The salesman, Peter Inglese Found the perfect car for me without trying to force me into something I didn't want or need (I love the used Camry I bought!). Fred Matayo from finance was beyond helpful, and even though my credit is FAR from great he - along with three managers Anthony Carino, Joe Buchanan and Mario Markou- got me an incredibly low monthly payment and even took my old (xxx) as a trade in. They were great and I will absolutely be sending all my friends and family there for their new and used car needs. :-) Thanks Gateway Toyota of Toms River!! More
Car Salesman reputation for a reason, they earn it. I was at the dealer on Saturday Night 4/2/2016 about 6:00 and made a deal on a 2007 Lexus ES350 with 230,000 mile used car for my son with Salesman I was at the dealer on Saturday Night 4/2/2016 about 6:00 and made a deal on a 2007 Lexus ES350 with 230,000 mile used car for my son with Salesman Mike Sweeney and a newer salesman which I do not have his name. You ask why 2 salesman? Because Mike Sweeney had spoke to me about a new car months ago and the new salesman tracked me down in the parking lot while I was looking at the used cars this time. So Mike wanted half the commission on this deal because he spoke to me once before, its like he owned me as a customer, Car Salesman at their best! We agreed on price and shook hands on the deal. I was to pick the car up on Monday after my mechanic looked at it, a realistic request. Monday morning I spoke to the salesman at 10:00 am and told him my mechanic would be by at 11:30 to check the vehicle out. My mechanic showed up and took the car for a test drive. He called me and said the car was ok however it needed brakes. The ad on the internet said the car had new brakes; however after talking to the salesman at 1:00 about the brakes he acknowledged the brakes were at 40%, so the add was incorrect (Beware), however I was ok with the brakes and told him I would be by after work to pick the car up. The salesman then called me at 3:00 and informed me he sold the car to someone else. What???? As you could imagine, I had a few choice words for him. I was very upset and quite disappointed at the lack of integrity and honesty the dealer has displayed. This is a true Used Card Dealer Mentality, no integrity, no honesty and just no decency. These guys get that Car Salesman reputation for a reason, they earn it. Mike Toms River, NJ More
