This last time that I was there, I had made an appointment online a couple of days prior. I took it in for my 24 month service (oil change and tire rotation) along with performing recall or recalls that were needed. I dropped it on December 4th at a little before 9:00am. I asked if it would take long before I could pick it back up, and was told that because of the recall that was to be done, it would probably be late that afternoon. At around 3:30 that afternoon I texted 855-753-0961 asking if they had an ETA on when my Tundra would be ready for pick up. At 4:12 they responded that my vehicle was finished, and I replied that I would be heading their way. My wife then drove me to your dealership and dropped me off. She returned home. My Tundra was parked outside in the front area. I went inside and told the person at the desk who I was and that I was there to pick up my vehicle. He had the paperwork ready and gave it to me to sign while explaining what had been performed on it. He said oil change and tire rotation but didn’t mention the recalls. I questioned it and he found it listed on the back page under why the vehicle was brought in, but he said it wasn’t written up and therefore the mechanic did not perform it. I questioned how come it took that amount of time for just an oil change and tire rotation. He only apologized and offered to get my Service Advisor. He went and located Colby, who was not the person who checked me in that morning. Colby looked through the paperwork and apologized for the recalls not getting performed. He asked if I could reschedule another appointment for another day to get it handled. I then asked why it couldn’t be taken back to the mechanic and have it done now while I was there. He then called someone and told me that they could work it in but it would probably be near closing time before it would be ready. I told him that my ride had already left, and I wasn’t going to wait at the dealership for that long. I did not understand why someone in the service department couldn’t perform the recall at that time instead of it having to be worked in. I told him that I would just have to reschedule, and left. ***************** read below ************* I was a Parts Manager for many years before I retired. My entire department worked on the “Customer Service Experience. Our customers knew that each employee did everything within their power to fulfill the customer’s needs, and if something went wrong they made every effort they could to correct it. My Parts Department earned the North American Parts Department dealer of the year right before I retired because of this mentality in my employees.“Bruckners Truck Sales (Mack and Volvo), Odessa Texas.” ******** I don’t mean to complain, but I have had an issue with something each time that I have used Gene Messer Toyota. I still don’t understand the time required for your dealership to perform your work, especially just an oil change, if an appointment is made beforehand.
