i recently purchased my third Volvo from GFS. If you are looking for a used car, this is the place to go! I purchased a 2004 Saab 9-5 Aero from GFS in April, I had been searching for the particular combination of options that this car offered and it was hard to find. I wasn't able to source the configuration tha been searching for the particular combination of options that this car offered and it was hard to find. I wasn't able to source the configuration that I wanted locally ( I live about 270 miles from GFS) I decided to work on a deal with GFS and take my chances. They were very friendly over the phone and through email, which Is how I dealt with them for about 2 weeks before I was able to make it out and buy the car. They are a very busy place which becomes obvious quickly as things like the service report I requested took days to get, its a busy place, but always felt like I was on the back burner which isn't how you want to feel when your spending top dollar on the vehicle your buying. When the time came to pick up the car, I was very excited, the car looked good and off on the test drive I went. Car looked good and ran well, though some little things needed to be fixed before I drove it back home (like the high Beam headlight not working) I would have thought this is something that would have been looked at and fixed before I came to get the car, seeing as it had been inspected for NYS and had been "gone through thoroughly". I completed the sale, drove the car home and was happy with everything, my wife was even talking about having them find her a similar car and going back, that is till I tried to get it inspected in NH, it didn't pass, and some of the issues were pretty obvious and couldn't be missed if you had seen it on a lift. It is now going to cost me a bit more than I wanted to spend to get the car in to the condition I thought it to be when purchased. They do offer a warranty, however I'm to far away to go back and have it examined by their guys, they offered to help me out with some of the parts, however they haven't come through with that on their end, which is disappointing. Overall I like the car, however knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have purchased it from them, seeing as I have to dump a bit more money in to it. The group was friendly and had some nice after purchase touches (sent a card and cookies) but that doesn't make up for the lack of attention to the vehicles before purchase or follow through on parts. First dealt with Dan Sr at their old location about 10 years ago. Just a great experience. 4 1/2 years later I dealt with Dan Jr at the new location as they were in transition. Another 4 years and I bough years ago. Just a great experience. 4 1/2 years later I dealt with Dan Jr at the new location as they were in transition. Another 4 years and I bought a third car from them. All three were good experiences. I had a problem with the recent purchase that was not under any warranty whatsoever. Dan had the car towed, repaired at his expense, and returned to my driveway in Rochester. No charge for a significant repair that was not covered. It was an unusual circumstance but Dan just did the right thing and took care of a problem he was not obligated for. The facility is clean and they are always friendly. More

GF&S is a 1st class dealer and repair shop in Upstate NY. I bought my 2007 Saab 9-3 in early 2011 from another dealer and while its a brilliant ride it had a few issues that needed to be cleared up befo NY. I bought my 2007 Saab 9-3 in early 2011 from another dealer and while its a brilliant ride it had a few issues that needed to be cleared up before our family drove to SC for Spring Break. I was greeted with a warm smile and a firm handshake and the boys went to work taking care of all the issues that I came in with. A loaner Volvo was provided to me as the work was going to take the majority of the day. The guys ended up working over a little bit on a Saturday so that I wouldn't have to drive the 60mi on that Monday. Whether you have a Saab, Volvo, Subaru, Toyota, Mini, or any car for that matter the guys at GF&S will do whatever is necessary to make sure that your car is driving like it came off the showroom floor.
