I had a wonderful experience working with Brenden while selecting the used Ford Escape my wife and I purchased. I searched online and found a number of used cars I felt interested in. After calling Brenden, I found out that the vehicles I was interested in were at other locations. Brenden happily agreed to promptly bring them all to his location so I could test drive them. I like the fact that Brenden was not a high pressure "bully" type. I felt like he really let me make up my own mind. I was turned away by other dealerships in the same automall because of my poor credit. Mike and Brenden were not judgemental. They helped me purchase the car I wanted at a great price. This was the second vehicle I have purchased at Gerald and I would go back again. More
I spoke with a lot of dealers, at multilple dealerships all over the Chicagoland area, and the one I enjoyed most working with was Eddi Makasiar at Gerald Hyundai. Once it was clear how strongly I wanted a all over the Chicagoland area, and the one I enjoyed most working with was Eddi Makasiar at Gerald Hyundai. Once it was clear how strongly I wanted a good price and how strongly I Santa Fe with certain options, several dealers seemed to lose interest and stopped returning my calls. Eddie, however, remained cheerful and helpful, and kept searching until he found the exact car I wanted at a decent price. I would recommend him and certainly deal with him again for future car searches. More
After having a warrenty engine replacement and dealing with Adam Vandiver, who went soooo far out of his way to make my life easier while dealing with a difficult situation. To make it quick, my 2009 Genesis (which I absolutly love) was T-Boned in an accident. I went through a great repair place, Gerber in Naperville, whom after reparing the body, noticed an engine noise. Gerber took it over to Gerald Hyundai, which was not the closest dealer, due to their great relationship with the dealership and Admn Vandiver ( as well as other service members). Adam understood that I had not had my car for almost three months once a new engine was placed in my car (free of charge). Instead of having me drive out to sign the paperwork to release the car back to the body shop for final touches, he came out to my house and explained to me what they had fixed and gave me copies of the paperwork. When I had a rear parking sensor act up, I knew that although they are not the nearest hyundai dealer to me, I had to drive to Gerald to had them look at my car. While the service team was looking at my car, I met Sam Katz and asked him to show me some new or newish Sonotas for my wife. Me wife and I had been planning a purchasing a Sonota Limited for her in Spring. I wanted to see what was available while I was waiting for the serve on my Genesis. Sam was great and he dealt really well with my wifes instructions on what specifically she wanted. Black or silver color, black or grey interior, Limited w Nav. I wanted it to have low miles and a great price, obviously. Sam showed me a few used 2011 and 12s but they were not exactly what my wife wanted. Then he showed me a perfect 2012 demo with less the 5k miles. Now it was time to chat about price. I had planned to spend X on a used so I on a knew i would spend more on a new never been titled car. Sam did a great job working on the price and my trade in value. He worked closely with his manager and I was able to get everything I wanted (including an 100K bumper to bumper wrap warrrenty) all for the price I was looking for, just slightly above the price for a used I wanted. He was very friendly and personalble and it was very low pressure sale. He respected my knowledge of the cars and brand and he understand how I wanted to negotiate for this purchase. He allowed me to speak honestly about what I wanted and how much i wanted to pay and evantually we got there!!! I dont usually write reviews like this but I am very impressed by Adam (who is still going above and beyond for me), Sam, and the management at Gerald. Ed Sirot at Gerber bodyshop in Naperville told me these guys were great...and they are! More

Situation: I was looking to buy a new Azera or Genesis sedan I had not purchased a new car in 12 years; therefore I was new to Dealerrater.com and I decided to use this website as a guide to choosing d sedan I had not purchased a new car in 12 years; therefore I was new to Dealerrater.com and I decided to use this website as a guide to choosing dealers to work with. That is why I was surprised when I received such terrible service from Gerald Hyundai. My sales person was Dany Khochaba he is one of the worst sales people I have ever dealt with in the process of any major purchase. I am an educated shopper and it was very clear after two meetings with Dany that I new far more about these cars than he did. I repeatedly asked him questions about these cars that I already knew the answers to and I would say he answered them correctly only 25% of the time. I also asked Dany and Mike Chino to fill out a financing worksheet that I got from consumer reports so I could understand the true cost of financing or leasing these cars. Mike filled out the forms for me which I appreciate but Dany said he didn't understand why I needed this kind of information and why I asked so many questions, REALLY??? I'm looking to spend between $35 - $45 thousand dollars and I shouldn't be asking a lot of questions or trying to understand the financial mechanics backwards and forwards, REALLY! One other major problem I had was that Mike Chino would not discuss final price unless I was ready to close the deal that day. This negotiating tactic seemed very old school to me and drove me to work with other Hyundai dealers. You may think some of your car models classify as luxury but you certainly do NOT offer a luxury experience. I want Gerald Hyundai to know that in the end I bought a new 2012 Azera with Tech Package in Black/Black and I bought a second new car for my wife, a 2012 Sonata Limited Turbo from Gartner Hyundai. So you didn't just lose one purchase but two!! Also, I have already told my large family & group of friends to never consider buying a car from Gerald Hyundai. More
Tony Scaglione was great to work with. He listened to our needs, did everything he could to accommodate them, was always available when we called, worked with us on the price and basically made it a pleasure needs, did everything he could to accommodate them, was always available when we called, worked with us on the price and basically made it a pleasure to buy our car. If a problem came up he was right there to fix it. For the first time ever buying a new car we feel like we got the best deal and were treated fairly. He also was extremely personal and made sure to be in touch with me throughout the entire process. Dany is a great, great person to work with. I can't forget about the rest of the team at Gerald Hyundai that also assisted me in my car buying process. They were all a complete pleasure to work with, and some of them even "went to bat" for me in terms of options. They all made sure that I was taken care of in a timely manner, and had all the patience in the world with me on explaining everything that had to do with my new vehicle. - Thank you, thank you! He was flexible enough to work with me on some main issues that I had with the purchase of the car and I felt that we went through a very fair and honest negotiating process that worked for both myself and the dealership. Sam even went above and beyond after the purchase of the car to make sure that I had everything I needed before I left the lot. Fabian Brooks and Mike Chino also worked with me and I also found them to both be very helpful. They both went above and beyond to work with me to make sure that I was satisfied all the different areas of purchasing the car (trade-in, financing, warranty, etc). I would come back again to Gerald Hyundai to purchase a car and would recommend Sam Katz to my friends and family. More
I visited Gerald Hyundai looking for a preowned vehicle. Michael was very patient showing me several models on the lot. And then came back for further negotiations. We wee ready to walk out, but Michael and manager found a way for it to work. Needless to say we all stayed way longer to make a deal on Christmas Eve. Thanks Michael for your time, expertise and patience. I will definitely send friends. I had actually visited two other dealerships last week and found this service to be ecxceptional.
